Basic Vanilla Birthday

This is for today's color challenge on Splitcoast to use Basic Black (BB), Very Vanilla(VV), and Sahara Sand(SS). I had a really hard time with this combination, and still don't LOVE the result! I used black as the base of my card, the sand color (I don't have any actual Sahara Sand) in the middle, and layered the top with Vanilla and Black. I used the CB Swiss Dots folder on the Vanilla and Black layers, and a Martha Stewart border punch on the bottom. For my image, I stamped the Upsy Daisy image from SU onto VV with Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed it with a clear glittery embossing powder. I cut those out with my Rectangle Nestabilities, popped it up on foam squares, added the ribbon and sentiment, and it was complete! Not perfect, but complete. Thanks for stopping by!

Different strokes for different folks - I really LOVE this one, Kerri. I love the contrast of black and white together, I think that bow is so fun at the top and I love the sparklies on the flowers. Probably one of my fave so far.

Oh wow! Thanks, Michelle! I know it is funny. Everyone definitely has different taste! I just didn't feel like I had much mojo today : )

Hey Kerri - do you use the Just Rite Stampers stuff? I bought a bunch on Taylor's buy 1, get 1 sale - and I have no use for all the second sets. I'd be more than happy to give them to you if you want them.

Thank you, Michelle! Unfortunately I don't have the Just Rite Stamper (yet hahaha). I'm sure I'll get it sometime because I keep seeing so many cute projects with it, but I have a couple things ahead of it on my list : )

It's not one of those things like a Cuttlebug that you have to get - each box comes with the stamps....all you do it put it together....place the the stamps where you wanna go, stamp in ink and away you go. It's really just stamps - free stuff even! But if you think that's weird of me to offer, that's cool too - ha.

I always love free stuff : ) I just want you to be sure you won't use them, or that you can't give them as a Christmas gift to somebody, etc. If they're taking up space and you want to get rid of them, you can definitely send them my way!
