CAS30 Best Wishes

Hello! Now that the lazy days of summer are over, things are starting to pick up around here! I signed my daughter up for soccer for the first time. My husband is so excited about her playing, because he was a big soccer player growing up. He even got a little surprise today when they told me they were in need of coaches for the under 5 y.o. group (which my daughter will be in) so I called him up and asked if he would be interested. He said sure! Now we'll have gymnastics twice a week and soccer twice a week. I also took my 21 month old to his first Kindermusik class today : ) He's been a little bored since his brother and sister started school, so I thought that would be something fun we could do together. He had a blast! I've always looked forward to these days when the kids would start getting involved in sports and activities. I love the idea of being a soccer mom lol! Now onto my card:

Today's CAS Challenge was to make-over one of our previous cards. We could simplify one of our past cards, or just redo a CAS card, etc. I chose to make-over this card. I pretty much took away most of the layers, the dp, and the stitching. I flipped the sketch, kept it on a white base, added the border and the sentiment. I like it because I always felt the other card was too busy. I hope you like it too, and thank you so much for stopping by today!

FS134 A Harvest Hello!

Hello! I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend! I was able to play along in the Featured Stamper Challenge today on Splitocast. Today's FS is Darlene Pavlick, a.k.a. akronstamperdpk. She has a wonderful gallery! I chose to CASE this adorable scarecrow card. I'm just so excited for fall so I've been wanting to make fall cards : ) I kept the same layout and theme, but used this sweet scarecrow from the retired SU set Harvest Hello. I once again used dp from Recollections Autumn paper pack. I also decided to add the ribbon. I will leave a full recipe below and thank you so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful rest of your weekend.

MTSC36 Dear Friend

Hello! I made this earlier today, but haven't had a chance to upload it : ) I wanted to play along with Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge because I love Mercy's sketches! I was in the mood for a fall card, so I pulled out this Fall Tilda and used some dp from the Recollections Autumn paper pack I picked up at Michaels. I stamped Tilda with Memento Tuxedo Black, colored her with Copics and cut her out. I added the scallops with my SU Scalloped Border Punch, and some texture to the Baja Breeze layer with my CB Stylized Flowers Folder. The sentiment is from SU Bella's Bloom which I stamped with Chocolate Chip. I punched it out with my SU Modern Label Punch and sponged Baja Breeze around the edges. I used my SU Oval Punch and Scalloped Oval Punch to layer the sentiment. I added the ribbon, the pearls to the sentiment and to the flower on Tilda's hat and it was complete! Thank you so much for stopping by today : )

SC243 Trick or Treat!

Hello! I almost didn't play in the Sketch Challenge today on SCS, but I just couldn't help it : ) Today's sketch was very unique, and I wasn't sure if I would like it, but I really like how this card came out! As I was looking through my stamps, I spotted this one that I haven't used before. It's from a retired SU set called Sweeter Treaters that I had gotten on Ebay. I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics. I used dp from a Debbie Mumm matpack called Harvest and Holiday that I picked up at Joann's last year. The border was made with my EK Success Fleur de Lis Punch, and the bat with the Martha Stewart Bat Punch. I hope you like my first Halloween card of the season, and thank you so much for stopping by today : )

Your Next Stamp 1st Design Team Call!

Hello! When I first saw these precious images at Your Next Stamp, I knew I had to do 2 things.
1) Make a purchase!
2) Apply for their DT!
These stamps are just the CUTEST and I would love the opportunity to work with them! Here are the two cards I made for my submission.
Is she not adorable!?! This sweet little mermaid is from the Happy Days Mermaid set. I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored her with Copics. I cut her out and added some Stickles to her scales and fin : ) I did the same with the starfish. I thought it would be cute to add little pearls for her earrings, and I also cut out the flower in her hair so I could pop it up. I added some bubbles to my oval with the Tiny Bubbles CB Folder. The dp is from SU Tea Party DSP. To finish off the card I added a machine stitch around the perimeter, Dew Drops in the right corner, and the ribbon.

This set comes with so many cute sentiments, and little sea creatures, so this is how I finished off the inside.

I LOVE baby cards, and I couldn't resist this darling stamp called Baby Boy Clothes Out To Dry. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black, and colored with Copics. I cut it out with square Nestabilities, and sponged around the image with SU Soft Sky ink. I used dp from K&Company Small Wonders Boy and the sentiment is from SU Short & Sweet. I added a machine stitch around the perimeter once again and put brads in the corners for a little interest. The ribbon and scalloped border finish it off! I will leave a complete recipe for both cards below : ) Thank you so much for stopping by today, and please wish me luck!!!

CAS29 and First Day of School

Hello! I made this for today's CAS Challenge on SCS which was an inspiration challenge. We were to use inspiration from shoes or bags on the Anthropologie website. I chose this adorable bag here because I liked the colors and layers. I used Melon Mambo for the base of my card, and cut stips of SU Razzleberry Lemonade dp and Melon Mambo. I added scallops with a Martha Stewart Punch, and layered the strips on the card. I added the Rich Razzleberry ribbon and bow, and the sentiment from SU Great Friend and it was complete! Very CAS!
Today was the first day of school, so I snapped a picture of my daughter before we got in the car. She was giving me the "oh mom" face : )
I took this picture last night for her first school project which was to decorate a paper doll to look like her.
This is Landon our special needs little boy : ) It's so hard to get him to look at the camera, so when I do get a picture of him looking up it's considered great (even though it looks like he's about to pick his nose LOL!!!)

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Getting Backpacks Ready!

Hello! Well we have been busy these past few days getting ready for the first day of school which is tomorrow! I don't know how it is where you're from, but if you are last minute school supply shoppers like us, it is CRAZY out there!!! I had to go to 4 different stores to find glue sticks because everyone was sold out! I had to go to 3 different stores to find a backpack for my daughter that didn't have spiderman on it or cars lol : ) Now that both backpacks are packed with all the necessary school supplies, I thought I would post this cute little backpack I made a couple weeks ago, but never got it uploaded. I used some of the new in-colors Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry cs. The ribbon is some I found in my stash, and works great with the Melon Mambo! The books and sentiment are from Artful INKables Think Big set. This was so fun to make, and you can find the template for these here. Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Fuzzy Bunnies

Hello! So last night some girlfriends and I went to dinner, and decided to hit a late movie. We were torn between The Ugly Truth, and The Time Traveler's Wife. I didn't know much about The Time Traveler's Wife so they told me it was supposed to be a great love story, etc. Now I'm all for a good love story, but those movies ALWAYS end sadly, and we all end up blubbering away in the theater. They all said no, no, I don't think it's supposed to be sad, so we went for it. Needless to say we were all blubbering idiots at the end LOL and then we were all mad at the movie which is what ALWAYS happends LOL! It's a great movie, so if you plan to see it I do recommend it, just beware!

I made this card for today's Ways To Use It Challenge on SCS to use something fuzzy on our cards. I immediately thought of this darling image from My Favorite Things, and thought it would be perfect to add some cotton to the bunny's tail. I also used my new Cottage Wall DSP from SU and I LOVE IT!!! I followed yesterday's sketch that Teresa created on the Mojo Monday blog. Well my hubby just came in the door with some dinner, so I'm off to eat! Thank you so much for stopping by : )

I used this super cute floral image from Prickley Pear called Black Eye Susan. I stamped it twice with Memento Tuxedo Black, colored with copics, and cut out the heads of the flowers so I could pop them up. I added Stardust Stickles to the yellow part. The rest is pretty self explanatory. Thank you so much for stopping by, and I will blog hop a little later.....depending on how crazy we get tonight heehee : )

CAS DT Search

Hello again! I decided to apply for a CAS (clean and simple) DT (design team) challenge position on Splitcoast. The DT makes a card every week to fit that week's challenge. For the DT call we were to make cards based on 3 challenges.
My first card was a sketch challenge based off of my ornament card found here. I was soooo honored that Jen (Miss Boo on SCS) chose my card as her inspiration!!! I decided to use this adorable Whipper Snapper image. I colored it with Copics and added the score lines and ribbon just like on my original card.
The second challenge was to make a monochromatic brown card with a small pop of red. I used this beautiful image from Verve's Forever in Our Hearts. I inked it up with Chocolate Chip, removed the ink from the bird and colored it in with a Real Red Stampin' Write Marker. The dp is Chocolate Chip DSP and the ribbon is Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon all from SU.
The third and final challenge was to make a fall card. I pulled out my PTI Vintage Picnic set and stamped the basket the right way this time lol! I filled my basket with these lovely pumpkins and colored with Copics. I stamped the sentiment with Memento Rich Cocoa and then added the lattice texture using my Scor-Pal. There you have it! Three CAS cards : ) Thank you so much for stopping by, again!

Still Here!

Hello! Sorry I haven't posted in a few days! My mom came down on Thursday after being in Oregon for the last 3 months, so the kids and I hung out with grandma : ) We also got our school shopping done, etc. I did finish the Verve cards but never posted them so here they are!

I made this one for the fourth sketch. I used the circle and sentiment from the Just for You set and the butterfly is from Petals & Stems. I stamped the circle with PTI Ocean Tides, and the sentiment with SU Not Quite Navy as well as the butterfly. The leaves were stamped with SU Crushed Curry. I once again used dp from Cosmo Cricket's Early Bird as well as Very Vanilla and Sage Shadow cs.

My final card is pretty loud and crazy, so I thought a birthday card would be appropriate : ) I used the sentiment and balloons from Verve's Birthday Surprise set. The dp is Cosmo Cricket Early Bird and I used Sage Shadow, Kiwi Kiss, Real Red and Very Vanilla cs from SU. I stamped the balloons and sentiment with Not Quite Navy and colored the balloons with Copics.

I will be back to post the 3 cards I made for the Splitcoast CAS Challenge DT search. Jen (Miss Boo on SCS) actually used my ornament card as the sketch challenge! I am so honored that she chose my card!!! Thank you so much for stopping by : )

Three Verve Sketch Cards

Hello! Well I've been working on the Anni-VERVE-sary sketches found here. I have 3 of the 5 done, so I thought I'd show you what I have so far :
I'm going to use my Cosmo Cricket Early Bird dp for all of the cards. I think it's fun to make little sets like this every now and then. For my first card I used probably my favorite Verve set Miracles Blossom. I stamped the stems of the flowers with Kiwi Kiss and the tulips with Real Red. I didn't have any red rhinestones or pearls, so I colored in some white pearls with a red Copic marker to put on the butterflies.
My next card uses the Up, Up, & Away set. I love these whimsical hot air balloons! I stamped the balloon with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics. I added some texture with my D'vine Swirls and Swiss Dots CB Folders.
My third card uses a cupcake from Verve's Cupcake Affair. I stamped the frosting with Chocolate Chip and the bottom with Sage Shadow twice and cut one out so I could pop it up. I added Stardust Stickles to the frosting, and once again colored a white pearl with a red Copic for the cherry. The sentiment comes from Verve's Wishful Elegance set. Well, I'm off to start on card #4! Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Sweet and Simple Ornament

Hello! Well it's release week for Verve which means challenges and chances to win free sets! I made this for a challenge that Charmaine posted which was to make a sweet and simple 1 layer card. It is VERY HARD for me to make a 1 layer card, but this is what I came up with : ) I used the beautiful Verve stamp set Ornamental Christmas. I stamped the ornament with flourishes in Chocolate Chip, then colored in the snowflake ornament with Ruby Red and Old Olive Stampin' Write markers, and stamped inside of the other ornament. I colored the bough with Old Olive and Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write markers and stamped it various times. I added a couple of score lines and put the ribbon down the middle. I put some Kaiser rhinestones in the centers of the snowflakes on the ornament and that was it! CAS : ) Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Mojo 98!

Hello! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!! I haven't had much time to stamp this weekend, but I really wanted to make a card for this week's Mojo Monday sketch. I also made this for Michelle who requested "more PTI goodness" : ) I pulled out my new Spiral Bouquet set that I got at CHA. I was so drawn to these beautiful flower silhouettes! I stamped the stem with Spring Moss, and the flowers with Berry Sorbet then added the sentiment that I stamped with Dark Chocolate. I used cs of the same colors. I am so addicted to my Swiss Dots Folder so I added some texture to the chocolate panel and punched out the little butterfly with a Martha Stewart Punch. That's it for me! Thank you so much for stopping by today, and I hope you like this one, Michelle : )

Our Little Pumpkin

Hello and happy Friday!!! A friend of mine asked if I could come up with a simple invitation for her daughter's first birthday in October. She wants the theme to be "Our little pumpkin is turning one!" I had this pumpkin stamp that I got last fall in the Michael's $1.00 bin, and I thought it would be cute if I could make this little Whipper Snapper Bella stamp look like she was leaning against it. I stamped Bella twice and cut one out to use as a mask. I then stamped the pumpkin. I think it turned out really cute! I computer generated the sentiment using Harrington font and punched it out with my SU Modern Label Punch. I added a couple of rhinestones for a little bling, and some Stickles to the pumpkin leaf. That's about it! Hopefully she'll like it, and thank you so much for stopping by today!

Thinking of You CC230

Hello! I don't usually play in the color challenges on SCS, but I just loved the color combo today, so I thought I would give it a try. The colors were Close to Cocoa, Blush Blossom, Cameo Coral, Certainly Celery, and WW. I thought they seemed pretty and girly, so I pulled out one of my pretty and girly Whiff of Joy stamps~Melinda with bouquet. I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and colored her with Copics. I added some Diamond Stickles to her wings, and small pearls to the flowers. I used a Martha Stewart border punch (not sure the name) for the border and colored the white Prima flowers with a Copic marker to match. I stamped the sentiment with VersaMark and heat embossed with white embossing powder. That's about it! Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Finally Decided To Try.....

Edited to add: I now realize that I stamped the basket upside down LOL! I will try to do better with these awesome stamps in the future hehe ; )
PTI!!! So I've been wanting to order from Papertrey Ink for a while and when I read that they would be at the CHA show I thought that would be the perfect time to try them out! I was fortunate to be able to attend the CHA show Friday and Saturday since it was here in Orlando, and I had a blast! I loved hanging out at the Splitcoast Stampers booth and I met so many awesome people that I see online everyday! I also loved the PTI booth and spent way too much moola there : ) I made this card for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #32 or MTSC32. I used my new PTI cs Spring Moss and Aqua Mist (I ADORE these colors together...and seperately lol!) and some dp from the Everyday Blessings paper pack. The stamp is from the PTI set Vintage Picnic. This set is so cute and it comes with 5 different picnic baskets, and several different items to put in the basket for different holidays etc. It also comes with several sentiments, but I chose not to use any on this card. I colored it with my Copics, and used my Rectangle Nestabilities to cut it out. I also added some texture to my SU Real Red panel with my CB Swiss Dots Folder and added the PTI satin ribbon. I think I may be hooked! Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful evening!

Anni-VERVE-sary Blog Hop!!!

Welcome to the first ever official Anni-VERVE-sary Blog Hop. Verve turns two today and we’re celebrating with a hop, hop, hop! The party kicked off over on the Verve blog, so if you’ve just happened along, be sure to hop on over there to start from the beginning! And to make this party a real shindig, there’s a mystery jackpot hidden at one of the stops along the hop. One lucky commenter on that blog will win Verve’s entire August release! But of course, it wouldn’t be a mystery if you knew which blog, would it? So if you’re feeling the love, give a little shout out to the bloggers in the hop and you just might have a reason to jump for joy!
For my card I used one of my favorite sets~ (ok they are all my favorite lol!) Kindred Spirits. I stamped the oval image twice, once on Kiwi Kiss and once on white with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I stamped the cluster of fleur de lis' with Kiwi Kiss, and the sentiment over the top. I cut out the oval part and popped it up over the Kiwi Kiss layer. I added some texture using my Argyle and Swiss Dots CB Folders. I also added a border of the fleur de lis' on the inside. That's pretty much it for me : ) Now it’s time to hop on over to Regina’s blog, for a little more Verve-y goodness. Thank you so much for stopping by!
