Breast Cancer Awareness Blog Hop!

Hello!  Hopefully you came here from Molly's Blog, but if not start at the beginning which is Michelle's Blog : )  When I saw that my blogging buddy, Michelle was going to start a Breast Cancer Awareness Blog Hop I immediately signed up!  What a wonderful way to send out this important message to women.  We need to take care of ourselves, get our exams, and perform our monthly breast checks.  For those that have battled this terrible disease, you are truly an inspiration to us all!  You send out a message of hope and that is what my card is about : )

I used this beautiful bloom from the PTI set In Bloom.  I stamped it three times and cut out the different layers, popping them up on Dimensionals.  I then added some Cotton Candy Stickles around the edges.  The sentiment comes from the PTI set Fall Elegance.  I used Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #45 for my layout.  Thank you so much for joining us on this important hop!  Your next stop is Melinda's Blog : )

IHP Birthday Bash Day 4!

Hello!  I was invited by the amazing Cathleen Torina to participate in today's i {heart} papers birthday bash challenge with her!  To read all about these challenges please see my post from Monday or the i {heart} paper blog : )  Our challenge today is wrappings.  I immediately thought about making some sort of gift box, and decided to use one of my favorite Lauren Meador Templates~ For KEEP{sake} Box

I used Regal Rose cs for the base of the box, and decorated it with this GORGEOUS SEI dp that you can find at the i {heart} papers store!  The striped one is SEI Margarita Mimosa and the green polka dot one is SEI Bridgeport Tennis Court.  I will be buying more of these FOR SURE!!!  I used this adorable Fhiona from the Your Next Stamp set Flying High Fhiona.  I just think she looks perfect on the front of this gift box!
Here is a view of the side of the box with that fabulous striped dp:

And the top of the box:

I forgot to mention that I filled the box with hairbows.  How perfect for a little girl!  I hope you've been enjoying the challenges this week!  I can't wait to see who the winners are!!!  Thank you so much for stopping by today : )

IHP Birthday Bash, and A Special Gift

Hello!  I was extremely honored when Cathleen Torina invited me to help i {heart} papers celebrate their first birthday!  They have such a fabulous week planned, and I'm so sorry that I have to miss all the fun!  I did create three projects for you to see this week~the first one can be found below~and hope that you can play along too!  Please read below for all the details!  You could be the next i {heart} papers Guest Designer WOOT!!!

Get ready for the i {heart} papers Birthday Bash! That’s right, IHP is turning 1 year old this month, and a whopper of a party is planned! There's also a special gift planned to help others celebrate more birthdays. You’ll read more about that at the end of this post.

First, let’s talk about the party! There will be prizes galore (free stuff – you like free stuff, don’t you?), and a Grand Prize winner will be chosen at the end to be the IHP Guest Designer for the month of November!

There will be 6 birthday party themed challenges, one posted each day starting on Monday, October 19th. Each challenge will be hosted (and posted) by one of the IHP Design Team members. It will also be posted on the IHP Blog and on the store site HERE. Some special invited guests will be posting throughout the week, too! Each challenge will have its own prize.

To qualify for the prize of the day, all you have to do is post your challenge card/project to Splitcoast Stampers (SCS) and/or Paper Craft Planet (PCP) with the appropriate tag so we can find it. The tag (and the prize) for that day’s challenge will be posted on that day. You will have the full week (until October 25th) to post your work, and you can enter as many challenges as you like, but you can’t combine challenges in one project. The daily challenge winners will be selected at random at the end of the week.

To qualify for the Grand Prize of being IHP Guest Designer for the month of November, here’s how it will work: Every challenge card/project you enter will give you points (see the list below), and the one with the most points accumulated for the week will be the Grand Prize winner. So the more challenges you enter, the more points you earn — and the better your chances of winning the Grand Prize (and the bigger the value of your Guest Designer box will be)!

All winners, including the Grand Prize winner, will be announced at the Birthday Bash on October 26th.

So get ready to PARTY!!!! You won’t want to miss the fun!

Birthday Bash Points

For each project:

5 points for each challenge card/project you make, upload and tag to SCS

5 points for each challenge card/project you make, upload and tag to PCP

2 points for uploading to your blog and linking at least one IHP item used to the IHP website

One time points:

2 points for signing up to receive our newsletter*

2 points for joining our PCP group*

2 points for becoming our fan on Facebook*

10 points if you participate in all 6 IHP Birthday Bash challenges

*When you sign up, or if you are already signed up, leave us a comment on the IHP blog during Birthday Bash week so your points can be credited.

A Special Gift

Because i {heart} papers loves birthdays so much, they’ve decided to contribute 10% of sales, beginning on October 19th and through the end of October, to Hope Lodge New York City. Hope Lodge, run by the American Cancer Society, “The Official Sponsor of Birthdays,” offers free, temporary housing for cancer patients and their families who are undergoing treatment. The nurturing, comfortable environment at Hope Lodge allows patients to focus on what is most important - fighting cancer. What better way to celebrate a birthday than to help those who are helping more birthdays happen!

The first challenge today is a color challenge to use Regal Rose, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, and Basic Black~the colors found in the i {heart} papers logo!  Here is my card:

I stayed with a clean white base and scored it with my Scor-Pal.  I used this gorgeous flower from the Verve set Enjoy.  I stamped the stem with Certainly Celery and the flower twice with Regal Rose, cut one out and popped it up on Dimensionals.  I then added Stardust Stickles to make it sparkle : )  I cut the panel out with my Nestabilities Labels 4 and while leaving the Nestie in place I sponged with Bashful Blue.  The sentiment from the PTI set Floral Fusion was stamped with Black.  The dp is from the retired SU Sweet Always DSP and the border was punched with a Martha Stewart border punch.  I added the pearl accents and it was complete!

I hope you enjoy the challenges and good luck!!!

Be Merry

Hello!  I made this during the WCMD Challenges on SCS.  This challenge was sponsored by Magnolia and we were to make an ornament.  I decided to use this adorable Fall Tilda and color her in traditional Christmas colors.  I cut her out and popped her up onto a bg that I cut with my Long Rectangle Nestabilities.  I used my CB Swiss Dots Folder for some texture, and used a sentiment from my SU set Warm Words.  I added the Kaisercraft Pearl to the center of the flower on her hat, and some Stardust Stickles on her wings.  Voila, just perfect for the tree : )  Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Autumn Leaves

Hello!  Well we are leaving today on our vacation, but I am pre-posting several projects to show you next week while I'm gone : )  My husband asked me yesterday if I would want to go to the race tomorrow night in Charlotte since we don't have to be at our cabin until Sunday.  Of course I said YES!!!  I guess there are still several tickets available, so the kids will get to experience their first race!  My youngest LOVES cars, so maybe he'll get a kick out of it : )  I made this for this week's Sketch Challenge on SCS.  I used these fabulous leaves from the Verve set Harvest Blessings.  I stamped each twice and cut one out to pop up on dimensionals.  The dp is last year's SU autumn dsp but I cannot remember the name.  I hope you like it and thank you so much for stopping by today!  Have a wonderful weekend : )  GO #24!!!

Divine Divas Inspiration Challenge #14!

Hello! It's time for another Divine Divas Inspiration Challenge! Our inspiration this week is this gorgeous piece of fabric!

 Here is my card:

I tried to incorporate the colors and some flowers from the fabric into my card.  I really like the pops of blue in this color combo!  I also used zigzag stitching and the ric-rac based off of the squiggly lines in the fabric.
I decided to use the tree image for this week's Saturday Spotlight Challenge to decorate a tree.  The sketch is Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #43.  Thank you so much for stopping by today, and make sure you check out the other Diva's fabulous creations!

My Daughter's Birthday Party Pictures : )

Hello!  I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend!  We had my daughter's fifth birthday party yesterday, and the theme was tea party : )  I thought I would show you a few pics!  I originally planned for it to be a garden tea party, however, we decided to move it inside at the last minute because it is SO HOT here still!  It's still 90 degrees plus and the heat is killing me!  Fortunately we are going on vacation in a week to Tennessee and I am looking forward to the cool mountain temps!  This first picture is a picture of the kids' place setting.  I made them each these darling Pretty Petal Pocket bags and filled them with Jelly Bellys.  I also made the place cards for everyone.  I used very inexpensive glassware so if it broke it wouldn't matter : )

The adult place settings were slightly different with nicer plates and goblets : )  I also made little boxes for them and filled them with flavored tea bags.

Here you can kind of see the set up.  I also decorated hats for the girls and gave them each a teddy bear with a matching bow around the neck : )  This is Avery running around the table with her hat and bear.  She was very excited for her party to start LOL!

While we were waiting for everyone to arrive the girls beaded necklaces.  I also got paper puppet kits for the boys.

After we ate, the kids played a few games outside and inside : )   They played Musical Chairs, Hot Teapot (instead of Hot Potato) Tea Bag Toss, and Sugar Cube Relay.

After games we had cake and Avery opened her presents.  Everyone had a lot of fun!

Thank you for stopping by!  I will have more card creations for you tomorrow : )

BOO!

Hello!  I still have some birthday stuff to take care of for Saturday, but I just had to make a card for this week's fabulous Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge and for this week's Saturday Spotlight With Hidden Potential Challenge!  Saturday Spotlight is a new challenge site and I love the idea behind it.  This week we were to make a halloween project without using halloween stamps!  I decided to use Magnolia's Sitting Summer Tilda.  I colored her with halloween colors and had her sit on the circle that I embossed with the CB Spider Web folder.  I also used my Martha Stewart Goo Border Punch and my SU Cast-A-Spell dp to add to the halloween spirit : )  I punched out the B and O using my Sizzix Lollipop alphabet dies to spell out BOO!  I hope you like it, and thank you so much for stopping by!

Hello!  I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!  Saturday we had a busy, busy day, but yesterday I was able to make 5 cards for the World Card Making Day Challenges on SCS : )  I made this one for a sketch challenge sponsored by Sugar Nellie.  I spent waaaay to much time on this card, but I really like the result : )  This is one of those images that when I saw it I had to have it immediately!  I just love Emma from C.C. Divine Divas Inspiration Challenge #13!

Hello!  This week the Divine Divas had a beautiful piece of art for our inspiration:

And here is my card:

My layout was inspired from the picture, as well as the trees.  I used my SU set Trendy Trees, stamped the center one, masked it and stamped the other trees.  Then I decided to stamp the center tree again, cut it out and pop it up on Dimensionals.  After I cut out all the squares, and laid them out, I stamped the sentiment from the PTI set Fall Elegance.  I ran the squares through my Leafy Branch CB Folder which was inspired by the branch in the left corner of the picture, before adhering them to the card base.  I added the ribbon and popped up the center image panel.  Make sure you check out what the other Divine Divas did this week!

If you decide to play along with us, just use DDIC13 when uploading : ) Thank you so much for stopping by!
