Verve Project Parade Sizzlin' Summer Fun!

Hello!  The Verve Project Parade is going on right now, and of course I had to play along!  The theme is Sizzlin' Summer Fun and here is what I came up with:

One thing you always need when playing out in the sun is sunglasses!  I thought I would create a little gift box that was the perfect size to house a pair of sunglasses :)  I think this would be a fun summer gift!

See~ they fit perfectly!  I created my own version of a 2,5,7,10 box.  I scored an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cs at 2, 5, 7, and 10 then cut off the top so that the sunglasses would fit inside.  I then made a lid for it.  I cut a piece of cs to 5" x 4" then scored all the way around at 7/8".  I added a punched border and it was complete!  For my box, I used some dp from the Cosmo Cricket DeLovely mini deck and added this fun sentiment from the Verve Relax set.  The flourish and flowers are from Happy Days.  I also added a little stitching around the border.  Here is the top:

I used some gorgeous yellow striped grosgrain ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon found HERE,  and a sentiment from the Verve set Big Wish.  Hopefully I've inspired you to create your own Sizzlin' Summer Fun project:)  Thank you so much for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Your Next Stamp Challenge #17~Border Punch!

Hello!  It's time for another fun Your Next Stamp Challenge!  This time the awesome Starlet Maylee challenged us to use a border punch!  We all love our punches, right?!  I used this super adorable Flower Bouquet Fhiona image and this really pretty dp that I found at Joann's called the DCWV Linen Closet paper pad.  I just love these colors together!  I decided to cut some of the edge off the front of the card, and I added this pretty heart border that I punched with a Martha Stewart Punch.  I added a strip of the soft blue to the inside edge so that it would show throught the punched border when the card was closed.

So did you notice that pretty Just for you sentiment?  This is a sneak peek of one of the new sets that will be released on June 8th called Elegant Greetings!  Don't you love that pretty font?!  There are 11 sentiments in the set, which you will be reaching for all the time!  Karen has been showing a few sneak peeks on her blog as well, and she has a Sneak Peek Contest going on!  You can win a special New Release Surprise Package just by going to her blog and taking a guess!!!

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!

Hello!  Welcome to the PTI Blog Hop!  This month's theme is to use felt on our projects.  I used a fun flower die that I have and came up with this:

I have not tried the PTI felt yet, but I definitely plan to add some to my next order!  I used some felt I had laying around and punched flowers out of it using a Sizzix Bigz die.  I added a PTI Raspberry Fizz button to the center.  I also used the PTI butterfly die to cut my butterfly, then stamped an image from Butterfly Dreams onto it with Raspberry Fizz.  The sentiment is also from Butterfly Dreams, and I attached it to some Raspberry Fizz ribbon using a jump ring.  I used the Cute Carton template found HERE for my box, and the dp is from the Cosmo Cricket DeLovely paper pad.  Thank you so much for stopping by, and enjoy the hop!!!

Another Happy PTI Card

Hello!  I have been busy working on some DT stuff, and working on a baby girl chipboard album for a friend, but I wanted to show you another card I made using the PTI Up, Up, and Away set.  This time I used the kite image, and I paper pieced it with some October Afternoon Fly A Kite DP.  I also used the PTI set Blooming Button Bits for the flowers~so cute!  The landscape and cloud are from a Perfect Presentation cut file which you can find HERE!  Ok, I'm super tired so I'm off to bed.  Have a wonderful night/day!  I'm hoping I can crank out something for the blog hop later on!!!

PTI Balloons

My new PTI goodies came today!!!  I know the card world will soon be flooded with these adorable balloons LOL!  I almost didn't order them~I thought I was going to go with the Just For You set, but in the end I just couldn't resist their cuteness.  Don't they just make you happy?  I also got the Linen and Canvas Impression Plate which I LOVE!!!  I used that on the clouds which I cut using an awesome new cut file from Leigh Ann Baird!  You can find it HERE at The Wild Flower Patch Shop.  It's a lot cheaper than buying the PTI die, plus you get a landscape shape too!!!  Leigh Ann has added a few new cut files so make sure you check them out!  I'm off to watch a movie with my hubby, but I will leave the complete recipe below :)  Have a fabulous weekend!

For the Graduate

Hello!  Wow, I can't believe it's Friday already!  I wanted to share a graduation card that I made for my hubby's little brother who is graduating from High School this year!  When we got married, he was only 7 years old and now I have a 7 year old!  Scary!!!

I used this fab graduation set from PTI called For the Graduate.  I really love this label image, and the sentiments in the set are great too!  I used Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #74 for the layout, and after I punched the scallops, I thought it would be a perfect place to add 2010.  I created the Argyle pattern using the school colors with the My Time Made Easy set Argyle Amazement.  I also embossed the Scarlet Jewel panel with the PTI Wood Grain Impression Plate.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend planned!  Not much going on around here which is good because I have a baby girl chipboard album to work on for a friend!  Hopefully I'll be able to share some pictures next week:)  Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!!

Divine Divas Inspiration Challenge #27!

Hello!  It's time for another Divine Divas Inspiration Challenge :)  Who wouldn't be inspired by this beautiful bag?  I just love the bright pops of color against the white background!  I used yesterday's Sketch Challenge on SCS once again and came up with this:

Everything on my card is SU besides the buttons which are PTI :)   I used this awesome grass image from Inspired by Nature, and the flowers are from For All You Do.  I stamped the flowers with Rich Razzleberry and Melon Mambo which I thought were similar colors to the inspiration photo.  The dp is Razzleberry Lemonade DSP and the sentiment is from the set Short & Sweet.  I added some Melon Mambo ribbon and some stitching, and it was complete!

Make sure you check out what the rest of the Divas created, and if you decide to play along, just use DDIC when uploading to your gallery:)

CASEing Cathleen and Pics Of My Craft Room!

Hello!  I made this card on Sunday to play along with the Featured Stamper on SCS.  This week's FS is the super talented Cathleen Torina aka ctorina.  Her gallery is AMAZING, and it was hard to decide on a card to CASE, but I finally chose THIS ONE.

I really love how Cathleen made the frame out of the Labels 8 and Circle Nestabilities.  I thought it would be the perfect little perch for this super sweet Magnolia image~Tilda With 3 Flowers.  I finally broke out my Webster'sPages dp, but I actually had to turn it sideways so I wouldn't cover up the pretty butterfly :) The sentiment is from the My Time Made Easy set So Sentimental.  I really love the font!

I thought I would show a picture of my crafting space.  When we had child #3, we decided to get rid of our formal dining room and turn it into our office.

I got one of these ScrapBox units a couple of years ago.  I leave it open all the time because that's where I sit to craft, so I added some dp to the doors to decorate it a little bit:)

I found these paper units at Staples. I bought two of them and stacked them on top of each other.

I found these ribbon shelves at Michael's on clearance.  I bought two of them and put as many spools on there as I could LOL!  I still have tons of ribbon in my big ScrapBox drawers.  I got the little jars at Hobby Lobby for my PTI buttons.  One day I'll have all the colors...

Finally, our desk.  Don't mind all the wires, etc. under there :)  I have my Cricut, and my sewing machine on there for easy access.  They are plugged in and ready to go.

Well, that's my little creative spot!  I hope you enjoyed the tour :)  Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful rest of your day!!!

Fun In The Sun!

Hello!  I hope you all had a fabby weekend!  We had a busy but fun weekend :)  It has gotten HOT down here in Florida, so we had some pool time and went blueberry picking down at a friend's farm which the kids loved!  I even got to go wedding dress shopping with a good friend of mine, and we found her the PERFECT dress!!!  It was so much fun!

Speaking of fun, I had a blast playing with my new Verve stamp set called Relax :)  I made this for the Embellish Magazine Color Challenge to use Sea Foam, Brown, Green, and Terracotta.  We were also to add dimension to our projects, so I cut out and popped up the sun, the palm tree, and the sentiment panel.  The dp is October Afternoon Fly A Kite and the layout is this week's Sketch Challenge on SCS.

Thank you so much for stopping by, and I hope you have a wonderful day!

We All Have Bad Days

And today is one of them :(  My day started out by being pulled over on the way to dropping my daughter off at school this morning for a totally bogus reason.  The cop who pulled me over knew it too, which is why he gave me warning and not a ticket.  There is nothing like the embarrassment of standing by the side of the road while you feel like every person in town is driving by, staring, and smirking at you.  The whole situation inspired me to come home and ink up this super cute Kraftin' Kimmie image~Lillith.  I used dp from SU Sending Love Specialty, and the fab ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon and came in the May Ribbon Club pack.  If you haven't checked out the Ribbon Club~you must!  So many beautiful pieces of ribbon for a great price!!!

I made this for the All That Scraps Challenge to use Pink and Brown and I used this week's Sketch Saturday layout.  Thank you so much for stopping by, and hopefully your day is going better than mine:)

Divine Divas Inspiration Challenge #26!

Hello!  Today's inspiration picture comes from a company called The Inglenook Decor~exciting decor for your urban cottage :)

I pulled out some of the colors as well as the butterflies to create a Mother's Day card for my MIL:

I used this gorgeous dp from the Making Memories Wedding paper pad.  The paper has such a pretty sheen to it, and it reminded me of the pearlescent shells in the inspiration pic.   The sentiment is from the PTI set Delightful Dahlia, and the butterflies are from the PTI set Butterfly Dreams.  I used Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #72 for my layout.

We hope you'll have a chance to play along with us!  Just use the code DDIC when uploading to an online gallery :)  Now check out what the other Divas created this week:
