Taylored Expressions November Sneak Peek Day 2 + Color Throwdown #217!

11:00 AM 21 Comments

Hello!  It's sneak peek time at Taylored Expressions, and I'm so excited to be joining the awesome Baker's Dozen this month for the new release!  All of the new products will be available on Thursday, November 8th at 8 am PST in the Fresh out of the Oven Department at the Taylored Expressions Store:)

Onto my projects:

First up I get to introduce this cutie ~ Moka Wanda!  I just love this stamp set!  It's so perfect to make cards and gifts for all of those wonderful stamping friends in your life:)  I decided to decorate a fun little glassine bag which I filled with a fabulous Taylored Expressions stamp set, some ribbon, and buttons.  I used this week's Color Throwdown Challenge for my color combo.  This week's challenge is hosted by the super talented Denise!  I so want this outfit she chose!

Here is a close up of  Moka Wanda:

Adorable!  I think I need one of those aprons!  I also used a new TE die on my bag ~ the Lace Chain Border Die ~ LOVE IT!  It's kind of hard to see with all the polka dots, but the detail is beautiful!  The dp is from My Mind's Eye Winter Wonderland.  Make sure you check out the Color Throwdown Blog to see more fabulous creations from the DT and to play along with us this week!

Next up we have an awesome new set that is perfect for stamping on the back of your cards called Signature Style!  This set contains illustrations from all of the Taylored Expressions designers, so no matter which set you use on your card, you will have a perfect coordinating image to sign your card with!  I decided to use some of the adorable images in this set to make a set of tags:

I stamped each image twice and cut out the focal image so I could pop it up on foam squares.  The tags were cut with the Totally Tags Dies.

So do you like what you see so far?  You can join us as a fan on Facebook tonight for an early peek at the stamp sets, as well as a Special Facebook Giveaway beginning at approximately 6 pm PST!

That's it for my projects today!  Make sure you visit the Baker's Dozen Blogs to see more amazing peeks!

Color Throwdown #214

2:00 AM 11 Comments

Hello!  Isn't this a pretty inspiration picture?  I just love sunflowers.  Today, Avery and I learned about the myth of how sunflowers came to be.  It all started with a water goddess named Clytie who was in love with Apollo-the sun god.  She watched him for 9 days and couldn't take her eyes off of him to even eat or drink.  She was becoming very pale and thin, so the gods took pity on her and turned her into a sunflower LOL!

Sorry, I digressed a little bit.  Our lovely hostess this week is Joan and this is what I came up with:

No sunflowers here!  I really wanted to color up this adorable super hero from Your Next Stamp called Super Hero Ethan.  I used a variety of dp from Cosmo Cricket The Boyfriend and Authentique Free Bird.  The layout is the Deconstructed Sketch #73.

We hope you'll play along with us this week!  Just link your creations to the Color Throwdown Blog HERE and make sure you check out the rest of the fabulous DT projects while you're there!

Thank you so much for stopping by today and have a wonderful Wednesday!
