Friendly Owls

Just a little card I made with my new Rachelle Anne Miller stamp~Hoo Hoo There : ) I'm trying to practice coloring with my Prismacolor pencils. The dp is retired SU DSP~I cannot think of the name. The star was punched with a Fiskars punch and I added the button with the thread bow. I stamped Friend from SU Fundamental Phrases and cut it out with the Word Window Punch. I used the SU Scallop Border Punch for the border and added some stitching. Thank you so much for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!

Frugal? Me?

Ok, so I'm not known for being frugal, unfortunately for my husband, but I was for today's Ways To Use It Challenge! I also used Amber's awesome VLVFeb04 sketch and the twist was to use acetate. I stamped the vase onto the dp and cut it out, then onto some acetate and put it over the dp. I adhered it with Glossy Accents. So how was I frugal?
1)Scraps of paper
2)My cheap white cs instead of WW
3)Odd button
4)Pieces of thread through the button instead of ribbon or twine
5)I used the acetate that some of my acrylic stamps came on : )

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Mardi Gras King Cake!

Hello and happy hump day! This week's Fun-Frilled Challenge was to make a Mardi Gras card. You may be wondering what the heck my card has to do with Mardi Gras...well, one of the Mardi Gras traditions is the King Cake : ) These cakes are usually decorated with the traditional Mardi Gras colors which are purple, green, and gold. Inside you may find different "trinkets" most commonly a small plastic baby. Whoever finds the baby gets to be king or queen for the day! They also have to provide the next king cake.

I decided to use this fun cake image from Artful INKables. I colored it in with Prismacolor pencils and sponged So Saffron all around the image. The baby is from Joann's $1.00 bin. The dp is Basic Grey Fusion. I added a straight stitch around the perimeter and used my favorite Martha Stewart Border punch for the lacey borders. I hope you like my take on Mardi Gras! Please visit Fun-Frilled to see what the other DT members have come up with this week!
Here is my version without the baby : ) Just a fun birthday card made with Artful INKables stamps! Thank you so much for stopping by today!

CC207, VLVFeb02, My First Tilda!

Hello and happy Tuesday! I made this card for two challenges today. The first one was today's Color Challenge on SCS to use Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun, and Kiwi Kiss. These colors screamed summertime to me, so I decided to ink up my Sitting Summer Tilda by Magnolia for the first time : ) I just think she's precious! I also used Amber's VLVFeb02 sketch since I'm still trying to catch up. I think it worked perfectly with this card, because doesn't the large circle look just like the sun! The twist was that we couldn't use any patterned paper, so I used 3 different CB folders~Swiss Dots, D'vine Swirl, and Stylized Flowers. I colored Tilda in using Copic markers, cut her out, and popped her up on dimensionals on the oval. I cut out a little piece of gray cs with my Oval Nesties as well so it looks like she's sitting on a wall. I stamped the sentiment with my SU Fundamental Phrases and cut it out with my Word Window Punch. I adhered it to my knot of ribbon and covered it with a button. I hope you like it and thank you so much for stopping by! Be sure to come back tomorrow to see my take on this week's Fun-Frilled challenge to make a Mardi Gras card! I hope you play along!

CASEing Jami!

Hello! I made this card for today's Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS. This week's FS is Jami, aka sgtStamper! I had a lot of fun looking through her gallery! I chose to case this card. I kept the layout the same, but changed the paper and images. The dp is Basic Grey LilyKate, the bunny image is from Whipper Snapper, and the Easter basket is from Inkadinkado. I added a zigzag stitch and the brads, and used the Scalloped Square Nestabilities to frame the images. I also added sponging to my image to play along with this week's High Hopes Challenge #19 to use sponging : ) Thank you so much for looking!

Fun and Frilly!

Hello! I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend so far! I wanted to post my card that I made for this week's Fun-Frilled Challenge which was to make a fun and frilly card. When Michelle issued the challenge, I immediately thought of Bellas, because these ladies always look like they're having fun! I chose this cutie patootie daisybella because she's holding her big, frilly flower : ) I stamped the image twice, cut out one of the flowers, and popped it up on top of the original image. I added some pearls, the lacey looking border, and some fun polka dot ribbon to complete it! The paper is from My Mind's Eye~Just Dreamy 2 collection, and the CS is Real Red and WW. Thank you so much for stopping by today, and take some time to play along! You have until tomorrow to upload your card for a chance to win the AWESOME blog candy!

VLVFeb03 and Ways To Use It

Hello again! I made this card for two challenges today! The first one is the Ways To Use It Challenge on SCS. We were supposed to use stripes on our card, so I used a strip of striped Chocolate Chip dsp. The second challenge is Amber's Viva La Verve Sketch Challenge and this week's twist was to use a monochromatic color scheme. I always have a hard time with that, but I like the way this turned out: ) All of the dp is from the Chocolate Chip DSP pack, the floral stamp is from Verve's Abundant Blessings set, and the sentiment is a Verve single. I added a brown stitch around the perimeter, brads to the corner, and a scalloped border on the strip of striped dp : ) Thank you so much for stopping by!

Sweet Birthday

Hello and happy Thursday! This is my submission for the High Hopes Guest Designer Call. When I saw the call on SCS I knew I had to apply, because I REALLY want some of their stamps! I mean, they are just too CUTE! Since I don't have any of their stamps yet, I used this sweet little Whipper Snapper image~Little Girl With Dotted Present. For my dp I used Making Memories Chloe's Closet once again. I just love it! We were supposed to follow this awesome sketch created by the super talented Katharina Frei, which is one I will definitely be using again! Wish me luck, and good luck to all of you who applied as well! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Birthday Best Sketch Challenge

I know the day is almost over, but I wanted to post my card that I made today for the sketch challenge on SCS. It was a very fun and unique sketch with the 1/4 circles! I used another Artful INKables stamp from the Birthday Best set. I just love this yummy cupcake! I paired it with this dp which I also love from Making Memories called Chloe's Closet which you can find at Michaels. I stamped the cupcake twice, then cut one out with my Rectangle Nestabilities~cutting off the top of the candle. I cut the candle off of the other cupcake and adhered to the top of my original image to create the out of the box look. The image was colored with Copics to match the dp, and I applied Stardust Stickles to the frosting. I added the ribbon, and tied twine around it and through the button to attach. I stamped the sentiment also from AI's Birthday Best set and added some paper piercing on either side. Thank you so much for stopping by today, and I hope you got entered into the fabulous drawing to win all 4 new stamp sets!

CASEing Julie Lacey and More Exciting News!

Hello! I hope everyone had a wonderful valentine's day! My hubby totally surprised me with Godiva chocolates, and a very nice gift card to Buckle~to get some jeans I've been wanting : ) He's definitely a keeper! I decided to play along with today's featured stamper on SCS which is Julie Lacey aka juliemlacey. I was just drooling as I looked through her gallery. Her style is so clean and she uses lots and lots of layers. I'm a huge fan! I decided to case her card here.
I didn't change much, because I love how she layered the colors and used the Sweet Always DP. What I did change:
1)Different stamps
2)Circle instead of oval Nesties
3)Brown instead of pink ribbon
4)Added pearls
5)Used Swiss Dots folder on bottom
6)Cut sentiment out with oval punches
I really love how it came out : )

Ok, now for my exciting news! I have been asked to be on the Fun-Frilled design team! What is Fun-Frilled you ask? It's a fun new challenge site to help you get your creativity going! Every week we will post a new themed challenge, and each day one of the DT members will post her creation to fit that week's challenge! Material Card

Hello and happy Thursday! I made this for today's Ways To Use It Challenge on SCS to use fabric on your card. I decided to use a scap of material instead of dp : ) I adhered the fabric with some glue, then added a straight stitch to secure it to the Very Vanilla panel. The floral stamp is from SU Embrace Life and the sentiment is from Verve Hundred Hearts. I added some piercing and punched a butterfly with a Martha Stewart punch. I added the pearls and ribbon and it was complete! I'll have to think of fabric more often while making cards! Thanks for stopping by today!

Viva La Verve Feb01 and CC205

Hello! Well I finally had time to make a card this afternoon while the kiddos were napping : ) This is for last week's Viva La Verve challenge (I'm just a little behind) and today's color challenge on SCS which was to use Pink Pirouette, Perfect Plum, and Kiwi Kiss. I had picked up this pretty stamp at Michaels last week. It's called Dandie Trio by Stampendous. I stamped that with Tuxedo Memento Black, colored it in, and sponged Pretty In Pink around the edges using my Oval Nestie as a mask. The butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch, and the swirl is from the CB Vintage die set. My dp is from Bella Rose DSP. This is the first time I've made a card where I rounded all the corners. I really like the look! I hope you like it too, and thank you so much for stopping by today!

Cut It Out!

Hello! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Now that our vendor show is over, I can get back to stamping : ) I made this card for today's Technique Lover's Challenge on SCS. We were supposed to cut something out of embossed paper, patterned paper, or a stamped image. I found this embossed Anna Griffin paper that I have had for like 9 years, so I decided to cut out this vine/leaves portion. I added Prima flowers with copper brad centers, and this pretty copper ribbon. I distressed the edges of the panels with the Tim Holtz distresser tool, and sponged them with Ranger Antique Linen. The sentiment was stamped with ColorBox Bronze and distressed as well. I used Oval Nestabilities to cut it out and pop it up in the corner. I also added a straight stitch around the perimeter, but it didn't show up very well. Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Valentine Frame

Hello again! I made this frame for the Verve Project Parade~A Kid at Heart : ) I love making these decoupaged picture frames, and thought this would be cute for valentine's day! I buy the unfinished wood frames at Joann's, paint the sides and back, cut my paper to fit, and use decoupage glue to adhere it. I use sandpaper to remove any excess around the edges. I add a top coat of glossy decoupage glue for some sheen, and protection. After that you just decorate them however you want! I used more paper from the K&Company paper pack I found at Michaels~Sweet Talk. The stamped sentiment is from Verve Hundred Hearts. Thanks for taking a peek!

Valentine Birthday

Ok, this one I was supposed to make : ) A friend asked me to make a card for a friend of hers who's birthday is on valentine's day. I also decided to incorporate this week's OCC challenge to make a card that has 2 or more hearts on it. I thought this Balloonabella from Stamping Bella was perfect! Balloons remind me of birthdays, plus it has the whole heart/valentine vibe going too! I used SU Bella Rose DSP and the cs is Ruby Red, Pink Pirouette, and WW. I paper pieced her dress and the balloons, cut out the balloons and popped them up on dimensionals. I added a straight stitch around the perimeter and pink brads to the corners. I punched out the lacy border with my favorite Martha Stewart border punch. Thank you so much for stopping by!

Hubby's Valentine

I'm not supposed to be making cards.....but I can't help myself lol! I just took a peek at today's sketch challenge, then I looked at the gallery~just a peek, then I got the creative urge, and before you know it, I made a card hehe: ) I think I will give this one to my husband for valentine's day. It has a bit of a masculine edge with the orange and brown don't you think? I used this cute image from Great Impressions, stamped it twice, cut out the kitten and popped him up on dimensionals. I watercolored her with Pumpkin Pie and added some Regal Rose to her cheeks, and hearts. I added a straight stitch to the polka dot panel, and ran the large orange panel through the CB Swiss Dots folder. The sentiment is from Verve's Hearts On Fire. Thanks for stopping by!

Target Mailboxes

Hello! Well I was finally able to decorate a couple of my Target mailboxes this weekend : ) I'm planning to fill these with some goodies, and give them as teacher's gifts for valentine's day. This was very easy to do thanks to Michelle who found this tutorial by Emily Giovanni. I just think they are the cutest! Anyway, I found this pretty K & Company paper at Michaels by Brenda Walton~Sweet Talk. I love the patterns, and there are some really cool specialty papers in the pack as well. I followed the tutorial, used my rectangle nesties to cover the flag part, some ribbon, a die cut heart that I put through the CB Swiss Dots folder, and that was it!

I'm busy working on a couple of chipboard albums this week, and my girlfriend and I sell hairbows and we have a little vendor show coming up this weekend, so I may not have a chance to post too many cards. I'm going to try to fit a couple in though! Thanks for stopping by!
