Recipe for success! When you sit down to create a card just for fun, for the pure joy of stamping, without any type of assignment or deadline, what steps do you usually take? Tell us how you get started and take us along on your creative journey.
When I sit down to make a card for fun, I almost always start with a stamp or stamp set that I haven't had a chance to play with yet:) My next step is to gather some fun dp!
Today I decided to ink up this adorable set called Love Bugs which I've been anxious to play with. It comes with those fabulous Coordinating Dies! I also pulled out more of this Authentique Lively dp which I just love:) I always stamp my images with Memento Tuxedo Black because it is very Copic friendly. Once I stamp my image and gather my dp, I can get out my Copics and start coloring! I always pick my dp before I color so I can draw the colors from the paper.
Next I just have to find a sketch. Today I used the Deconstructed Sketch #71 for my inspiration:
This is what I came up with:
I stamped the top of the jar three times-once on white card stock, then on some patterned dp so I could paper piece it, and finally on some Kraft card stock so I could cut out the tag. I added some Stardust Stickles to the heart and their bums for a little sparkle, and stamped a sentiment from the Love Bugs Set. I cut a border using the TE Notepaper Border Die and the XOXO sentiment comes from the adorable TE set Stuck on You.
Make sure you check out the rest of the Baker's Dozen Blogs to read about their creative process! I really look forward to seeing what they come up with:) Have a great day!
