Final DTGD Card~Woot!!!

Hello! Well I officially finished all of the Dare To Get Dirty Challenges on SCS! This was for the final two challenges which was a sketch challenge and a challenge to use shades of blue. I used this beautiful Bella Bleu DSP from SU and a flower from the Eastern Blooms set that I stamped with Not Quite Navy and cut out. After I had it together it really felt like a wedding card, so I found this sentiment in my Teeny Tiny Wishes set that says For the Newlyweds : ) This card came together very quickly and I really like the result. I hope you do to! Thank you so much for stopping by!

SC239 Christmas Dove

Hello! Well today is Wednesday which means sketch challenge on Splitcoast! Right when I saw this sketch I got excited because I knew that my new SU set~Gifts of Christmas would be perfect! This is one of the new sets I just had to have as soon as I saw the new cattie : ) I LOVE the poinsettia/leafy flourish! I stamped the image twice~once with the flourishes colored in using Stampin' Write markers-Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, and Real Red. I then stamped the image again with Chocolate Chip so I could cut out the dove. I cut the whole thing out using my Long Rectangle Nestabilities. I stamped the smaller flourish stamp in the set with Real Red and cut out the poinsettia so I could pop it up over the dove. I added Stardust Stickles and Kaiser Chocolate Pearls to the flower. I distressed the edges using a Tim Holtz Distressing Tool and Ranger Tea Dye Distress Ink. I also added the small stitching with my sewing machine, and the red panel was embossed with the CB Snowflake Folder. The dp is from Merry Moments DSP and the sentiment is from Best Yet which is a retired hostess set. That's about it! Thank you so much for stopping by today : )

Three More DTGD Cards : )

Yikes! These last couple of days have been really busy around here, so I haven't had a chance to post 3 more of my Dare To Get Dirty challenge cards! I think I only have 1 more to make, and I can officially say I participated in all of them : )
This first card was for the create a scene challenge. I used this adorable Artful INKables set-Think Big. I used some dp to create the "wallpaper" and some Chocolate Chip cs for the floor. I ran it through one of my Sizzix embossing plates to create some texture.
My next card was for 5 challenges! 1)Sew on a card 2) Make a shape card other than A2 size 3)Make a project using a song as an inspiration 4)Use an animal on a project 5)Color challenge~Bashful Blue, More Mustard, Real Red. I used this adorable Penny Black image, stamped it twice and cut out one of the flowers and the teddy bear. I used my Circle Nestabilities for the shape.
This last card was for the challenge to use black, white, and red as well as a sketch challenge. I embossed the white squares with my Leafy Branch CB Folder. I stamped the rose from SU Fifth Avenue Floral set with VersaMark onto watercolor paper and heat embossed with white ep. I then sprayed it with water and used my Aquapainter to color it with Real Red. I love the pretty effect this technique gives! I cut it out and popped it up on Dimensionals. I used black Kaiser Pearls in the corners. Well, I'm off to bed, but will definitely be cruising some blogs in the morning since I don't have to run myself ragged tomorrow! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Dare To Get Dirty Day 2!

Hello! Well I was able to complete 8 challenges today, but I only made 3 cards : ) I combined a lot of the challenges because there are just sooo many~but they are all so fun!
My first card was a sketch challenge. I really love this sketch, and will definitely use it again! I combined it with the challenge to use a clear element on your project. I used clear Dew Drops around the scalloped circle. This beautiful image is from Prickley Pear called Flower Silhouettes, and the butterfly is from Artful INKables Bouquets and Butterflies set. I colored the image in with some Stampin' Write SU markers and added some Stardust Stickles to the flowers. I used Cameo Coral and So Saffron cs, and the dp is from Summer Picnic DSP~retired.
I know some of you probably aren't ready to see a fall themed card, but I LOVE fall!!! I love the colors, and the fact that the weather gets a little cooler : ) I made this card for the challenge to make a food themed project, and to use ribbon on a card. Hopefully this pumpkin counts! I used another beautiful image from Prickley Pear (I just got a bunch of new stamps from them :) I once again colored it with Stampin' Write markers, then colored the pumpkin with Copics. I stamped the pumpkin again and cut it out to pop it up. I used Chocolate Chip and More Mustard cs. The dp is from Bo Bunny, and the sponging was done with More Mustard.
In case you're mad at me for bringing up fall already, here's a summer card for ya! : ) We are headed to the beach for the weekend, so I pulled out my favorite beach babe~Bikini Bella! This was for 4 challenges~to use texture on a card, die cuts/punches on a card, inspiration piece challenge, and an abc challenge which is why I cut out and spelled summer. I paper pieced her bikini, towel, and bag. I used Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, and Crushed Curry cs, and the dp is from SU Razzleberry Lemonade. I added texture with my Spots and Dots CB folder. That's about it! I won't be home this weekend, so I'm hoping I can catch up on the rest of the challenges next week : ) Have a fabulous weekend and thank you so much for stopping by!

Dare To Get Dirty 2009!!!

It's that time again on Splitcoast Stampers! I joined SCS this time last year, because I wanted to play with the Dirty Girls : ) I'm always up for a fun challenge! I was able to make a few projects today in between swimming lessons, gymnastics, taking the dog to the groomer, picking her up, laundry, meals, bedtime, you know how it goes!
My first project of the day was this simple tag. The challenge was to make a tag or a card with a tag on it, etc. I cut out some old retired SU Ski Slope dsp with my BossKut Vintage Die. I also cut out some cs with the same die and mounted the dp onto it to add stability. The cute snowman is from Whipper Snapper. I colored him with Copics and cut him out with Oval Nestabilities. I stamped the sentiment from the SU Great Friend set and sponged the edges with Ranger Tea Dye Distress Ink. I added the ribbon and the twine and it was complete!
My next project is a template I downloaded from Papertrey Ink~Lauren Meader's Timeless Template Pretty Petal Pocket. I'm already starting to plan my daughter's 5th birthday even though it's not until October : ) She says she wants a tea party~how fun! I thought this might be cute to put on the table besides the place settings for the girls with some pastel M&M's or something inside : ) I used paper from SU Tea Party DSP(how appropriate!) and Almost Amethyst, So Saffron, Pretty in Pink, and Certainly Celery cs. The butterflies are punched with a Martha Stewart Punch.
My third card was for the Masculine Card Challenge. We were to make a card for a boy, we had to use 1 piece of patterned paper and 3 colors. I used Kiwi Kiss, Basic Gray, and Not Quite Navy cs. The dp is from Urban Garden DSP. I colored this adorable dino from Whipper Snapper with Copics, cut him out with my Small Deckled Rectangle Nestabilities, and popped it up on Dimensionals. I stamped the balloon again, cut it out and popped it up. The sentiment is from Verve's Wonderful Wishes.
Finally, I made this card for two challenges~to make our own dp, and to use a winged creature. I stamped my bg with the beautiful damask image from the SU Friend 24-7 set. I used Bordering Blue and Soft Suede for my colors. I really love this combo! I stamped the bird twice, cut one out so I could pop it up on dimensionals. I cut it out with my Nestabilities Labels Four, cut around the embossed edge so I could mat it onto another Nestabilities Labels Four (I hope that makes sense). I sponged lightly with Bordering Blue around the image panel and sentiment. Ok, well I'm about to fall asleep so thank you so much for stopping by, and hanging in through my super long post!!! Hopefully I'll be able to play in more DTGD challenges tomorrow : )

SC238, Melon Butterflies

Hello! I loved today's Sketch Challenge on SCS! I have so many little stamps that it would work perfectly for, so I may have to make another card lol : ) For this card I used the butterfly from SU Great Friend set which is one of my favorites! I stamped it three times with Melon Mambo and cut them out. I mounted them on Square Nestabilities. I added the Crushed Curry border that I punched with a Fiskars border punch. The dp is from SU Razzleberry Lemonade. I did learn one thing while making this card. It doesn't work to stamp directly onto satin ribbon. The ink decided to bleed quite a bit which made the words blurry, so I went with no sentiment. I added the scored lattice lines with my Scor-Pal. That's it for now, but I may be back with another one : ) Thank you so much for stopping by!

Stamps: SU Great Friend
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, SU Razzleberry Lemonade DSP

I then cut her out and popped her up on an oval frame made with my Nestabilities. The dp is from Cosmo Cricket's Early Bird and I also used Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss cs. I punched the sentiment out with the new SU Modern Label Punch. Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Digiments Release Day!

Hello! I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend so far! We spent most of the day shopping for a new bedroom set! I've been wanting one forever as we are still using my hubby's old bed frame that he had before we were even dating : ) Well today is Digiments release day! You can get all 24 new Digiments for only $10.00!!!

I thought it would be fun to make a little gift set. I've seen these buggy cards a lot recently on SCS and other blogs. Basically it's 3/4 of the largest Circle Nestabilities. What I decided to do was to make two of them which are mirror images of each other, and I added a little box in between them by cutting a piece of cs to 5"x5" and scoring all sides at 1 1/2". I formed the box, and glued it between the two buggies. Then I was able to put a little pair of booties in the box. You could also use it as a favor box at a baby shower : ) I decorated it with more K & Co dp from the Small Wonders Boy pack. The card is simply made with Scalloped Circle and Circle Nestabilities. The booties are from a retired SU set called Buggies and Booties. That's it for me! Thank you so much for stopping by today : )

Digiments Sneak Peek!

This Saturday 24 new Digiments will be available! You can get all 24 for only$10.00! How cool is that? I have a sneak peek for you today of one of the Baby Love Digiments that will be available. I've been wanting to make one of these adorable onesie cards for a while, and this was the perfect time to try it : ) I found the template on Lauren Meader's blog here. I ran the front of the card through my CB Swiss Dots folder and added the Pink Pirouette accents. I printed out the Digiment, cut it out with my Nestabilities Labels 4, and sponged with Pretty in Pink. I added the satin bow, and 3 silver brads along the bottom for the "snaps". I just think these are so cute! Make sure you head over to the Digiments blog and download the 3 FREE Digiments. Then make a card with one or all three to be entered for the chance to win the entire new release!!! Since we're in baby mode, I thought I would show you the card I made for yesterday's Sketch Challenge on SCS. I have a dear friend who recently found out she's having a baby boy, so this is going to her. Congratulations, Kari!!! I'm just soooo happy for you!!! I stamped this darling image from Whipper Snapper with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I cut it out with my Rectangle Nestabilities. The dp is from K & Co Small Wonders Boy. I added the texture to it with my Tiny Bubbles CB Folder. I popped up the image panel with Dimensionals, added the ribbon and buttons and it was complete! Thank you so much for stopping by today : )

Christmas in July! My Final AI Blog Hop

Well today is bittersweet for me. I so look forward to our Artful INKables blog hops, but knowing this is my last one makes me sad : ( I have so enjoyed my time with AI and the other INK Girls! Kristin, you are fabulous, and I have LOVED working with your amazing images!!! Ok, on to the hop! Hopefully you came here from Velta's blog, but if not then start at the beginning which is Kristin's blog : ) We are showing off some oldies but goodies this month, and I had the chance to work with this beautiful Christmas set called Peaceful Wishes.

For this first card, I stamped both of the reindeer with Chocolate Chip onto Very Vanilla. I layered that onto Mellow Moss. The dp is from Basic Grey Wassail. This is a fairly large card at 5 1/2" square but I wanted to include all of the images from the set : ) Don't you just love the little pinecone and poinsettia images on the bottom? Just gorgeous! I popped all the image panels onto Dimensionals, and added a zigzag stitch around both of the dp panels.
For my second card, I stamped the reindeer with Chocolate Chip once again. I just love how that looks : ) I used some old SU Ski Slope DSP. I used my Top Note Die to cut out the striped panel, and added a straight stitch around the Baja Breeze dp panel. Am I the only one missing Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss already??? I added some paper piercing around the Nestabilities Oval and punched the sentiment out with my SU Oval Punches. That's it for me! Now hop on over to Holly's blog to see what she has in store, but don't stop there because a random commenter will be chosen to win a set and charm of their choice! Thank you so much for stopping by : )

Featured Stamper and Try a New Technique

Hello! Well my hubby got back last night, so all is right with the world again : ) I made my first card yesterday for the Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS but Blogger wouldn't let me upload it for some reason. So here it is today! This week's featured stamper is Kelly a.k.a. Schirmcat. I LOVE her gallery for her wonderful country style. I am definitely a country girl at heart and am usually attacted to all things worn and distressed : ) I chose to CASE this card of hers. I love the 3 strips of dp that she used so I pulled out some of my favorite dp~Bella Rose from SU. I think this Starry Snowman from Whipper Snapper has a country feel to him, so I stamped him with Memento Tuxedo Black, colored him with Copics, and sponged around him with Ranger Antique Linen Distress Ink. I pulled out my Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch, added the button and the sentiment from Verve's Ornamental Christmas that I punched out with my SU Word Window Punch. Pretty CAS, eh?
My next card is for today's Try a New Technique Challenge on SCS to make a faux grid card. I stamped the tree with Chocolate Chip and the leaves with Old Olive. I used a ruler and pencil to lightly make the grid pattern, then filled it in with a black marker making sure not to go over the image. I added little flowers that I punched out of Pink Pirouette with a CarlaCraft punch and added little pearls to the centers. The sentiment is from SU Great Friend and I punched that out with SU Oval Punches. The corners were punched with a Nankong corner punch. That's about it!

Make sure you check out the Digiments Blog this week! Michelle has 3 FREE Digiments for you, and if you make a card with them you will be entered to win all 24 of the new releases which will be available on Saturday! You can enter once or all 3 times! Thank you so much for stopping by!

I Miss My Hubby & Mojo 94

So my husband has been out of town since Wednesday. I know some women do the happy dance when their husbands have to go out of town, but I have one of those really great hubby's who helps around the house, and does a lot with the kids. Fortunately he doesn't go away very often, but my mommy time is definitely suffering, thus the lack of posts since Wed! I made a fairly quick card today for Mojo 94. I once again used this pretty Cosmo Cricket Everafter dp, however I'm not sure I'm feeling this particular color combo that I used. I stamped the flower sprig from Verve's Because of You with Always Artichoke, stamped the flowers again, cut them out, and colored them with a yellow Copic. The sentiment from Verve's Wishful Elegance was also stamped with Always Artichoke. I layered with So Saffron cs, added the Kaiser Bliss Pearls, and the ribbon for embellishments. That's all I have time for, so thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful rest of your weekend!

One More House Warming Card : )

Hello! I made this for today's sketch challenge on SCS. I needed one more house warming card, so I used my sentiment from SU Bella's Bloom once again. I recently got this dp from Cosmo Cricket's Everafter collection. I know I'm a little behind in the times, but I kept seeing so many beautiful projects with it and finally just had to have it lol! I stamped the flowers from Verve's Miracles Blossom set. The stems were stamped with Always Artichoke and watercolored in with AA and the tulips were stamped with Tangerine Tango. I stamped the tulips again, cut them out and popped them up on dimensionals. I added this pretty sheer ribbon and the butterfly punched with a Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch. That's about it! Thank you so much for stopping by today : )

One For Mommy, One For Baby

Hello! I have spent the last couple days creating my first ever photobook! It's something I've wanted to try, so I finally just sat down and did it! I made a year in review book for 2008 through Shutterfly. Hopefully I'll like how it comes out, and then I can make one for each year : ) I would like to explore the digital scrapbooking world, but I'm just not quite sure how to get started. If anyone has any good tips, just let me know!

I sat down and made a couple of cards today. A friend of mine asked if I could make a pregnancy card and baby girl card for her, so here is what I came up with.

I used this adorable Teddybella from Stamping Bella. I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored her with Copics. I cut her out with my Rectangle Nestabilities and used dp from DCWV Nana's Nursery. I added the ribbon, button, floss, and pearls as accents.

For the baby girl card, I stamped this adorable image from Whipper Snapper called Bella. I colored her with Copics, and cut her out with my square Nestabilities. I used dp from K&Co Small Wonders Girl. I added some stitching around the perimeter and the layered flowers using my SU Boho Blossoms Punch. Have a wonderful rest of your day, and thank you so much for stopping by!

LSC 227 Going Digital!

Hello! I hope you all have a fun weekend planned in celebration of our wonderful country! We actually have fireworks to go to tonight, and then a parade we like to go to in the morning : ) Hopefully it won't rain!!! My daughter finally got her first swimming lesson in last evening, and hopefully she'll be able to go again today. Rain Rain Go Away! Anywho, today's Limited Supplies Challenge on SCS was to use Digital images only! I was excited because I have several Dustin Pike images that I have downloaded, but have not had a chance to use. I found it only appropriate to make a patriotic card, so I also used this digital sentiment from Digiments. I colored the image in with Copics and cut it out with my Small Deckled Nestabilities. The dp comes from Scenic Route Liberty. We were only allowed to use two embellishments, so I used my sewing machine for the zigzag stitch, and added the spiral clip with ribbon. Have a wonderful weekend, and thank you so much for stopping by!

Stamps: Digital images from Dustin Pike and Digiments
Ink: Copics
Paper: Real Red, Night of Navy, Scenic Route Liberty dp

This Week's Sketch and Ways to Use It

Hello! I keep getting behind on my blog posts, so I have two cards to show you today : ) This first one I made today for the Ways to Use It Challenge on SCS which was to use cardboard on our cards. I decided to look through my Sizzix Original Dies and came across this starfish. Immediately I thought of this lighthouse set from Artful INKables called A Friendly Light. I stamped it with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with Copics. I colored the lighthouse with a Mellow Moss Stampin' Write marker. I added the Baja Breeze panel to the bottom and embossed it with the D'vine Swirls CB Folder to look like water. If you wet the top of cardboard, you can peel back the smooth layer to expose the corrugated layer. I did that and then cut out my starfish. Some ribbon and Dew Drops finished it off!
This next card I made for yesterday's Sketch Challenge. I changed it up a little bit by adding the large circle to the corner to accomodate this sweet teddy from the SU Cute & Cuddly set : ) The circles were punched out of dp from K & Co with my SU 1 1/4" Circle Punch. I embossed the Very Vanilla panel with the CB Spots & Dots Folder. I sponged Bashful Blue on the sentiment tag, and paper pieced the bears tummy with some coordinating dp. That's about it! I'm praying for a little sunshine today after 3 days of cloudy skies and rain! My poor daughter is supposed to be taking her first swimming lessons this week, and they have all been cancelled due to weather :( Here's hoping you have sunshine where you are and thank you so much for stopping by!

From Our Home To Yours

Hello! I didn't get a chance to post this card that I made yesterday for the Color Challenge on SCS to use So Saffron, Night of Navy, and Kraft. I immediately pulled out this stamp set from I Brake For Stamps that I won during the Stampin' Out Alzheimers event. I hadn't had a chance to play with it, and it's so pretty! I stamped the image with Night of Navy, and colored in with Copic markers. I stamped the image again, and cut out some of the blooms, and the butterfly for more dimension. I could not figure out the layout I wanted, and I fiddled, and fiddled, and fiddled some more until I came up with this : ) Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
