You're Absolutely Fabulous!

Hello!  How was your Memorial Day Weekend?  I had a wonderful and fun 3 days with my family:)  Now I'm just trying to finish up the final few days of school with Avery and then I will happily welcome summer vacation!

I wanted to share a card that I made using this beautiful image from Taylored Expressions called Rose Bouquet.  I really wanted to color the roses using several different Copic colors, and I love how it looks!  I also added some Curly Swirlies flourishes behind the image for some added interest, and I used the Open Scallop Border Die for the border.  The dp is Echo Park Paper Co. For the Record 2 and I also used some ribbon from the January 2013 KI Ribbon Bundle which coordinates with this paper collection.

Well, I am busy working on the new release for next week!  Trust me, this release is so much fun and I am having a blast playing with the new goodies:)   Thank you so much for stopping by today, and have a terrific Tuesday!

Taylored Expressions May Studio Challenge

Hello!  It's time for the Baker's Dozen Studio Challenge. This is a monthly opportunity for the Taylored Expressions DT to share what makes our stamping studios hum. Each month we have a fun, crafty question so we can share our favorites, some tips and tricks, stamping advice and more.

The question for May is:
What is your favorite time of the year? Some of us love the sunshine and heat of summer, while some of us long for the crisp cool air of fall. Do spring flowers make your heart sing or is it snow and the smell of pine needles that makes you jolly?

Tell us about your favorite month or season and also tell us about your favorite time of year to stamp.

You can probably tell from my snippet that I love FALL!  I love the earthy colors of fall, and if I could own every pumpkin image on the stamping market I probably would:)  Growing up, I used to hate fall because I lived in Wyoming, and fall meant that the ground would be frozen for the next 9 months LOL!  Now that we live in Florida, I look forward to the somewhat cooler temperatures!  I also just love that fall is the start of the holidays.  Such a fun season!

For my project today, I created 3 calendar pages using the TE 2013 6x6 Dated Calendar Download which you can find HERE.  Taylor also has the 2014 Download available which is perfect for creating gifts!

For my September page I used the fun Made in the Shade Stamp Set along with dies from the Sunny Days Stamp Set with Coordinating Dies.  I stamped the image twice and cut the pumpkins out so I could pop them up for some dimension.

For my October page I used another one of the Made in the Shade images and added a haunted house from the Oh What a Holiday Set.

For my November page I used the Made in the Shade set once again, and added a cloud from the Sunny Days Stamp Set with Coordinating Dies.  Once again, I stamped the image twice, and cut out the front house so I could pop it up for dimension.

I'm also REALLY looking forward to fall this year because we will be all moved in to our new home~YAY!  First, I've just got to survive the summer with bored kiddos in a small house-yikes.

Make sure you check out the rest of the Baker's Dozen blogs to see more fun calendar projects!  Thank you so much for stopping by and have a fabulous day:)

Taylored Expressions Mr. & Mrs. Cutting Plate!

Hello!  I wanted to share a card I made last week using the new Mr. & Mrs. Cutting Plate from Taylored Expressions.  This is one of the prettiest cutting plates I have ever seen~so much detail!

I first cut a piece of My Mind's Eye Bramble Rose dp with the plate, but I wanted the Mr. & Mrs. to stand out, so I cut some black cs with it as well.  I simply hand cut the Mr. & Mrs. out of the black cs and glued them on top of the dp.  I added a few pearls and it was complete!  So easy, yet so beautiful!  Here's a close up:

That's it for me today!  Thank you so much for stopping by!

Taylored Expressions May Release Day: Shades of Thanks Die!

Hello!  It's Release Day at Taylored Expressions which means that all of the new stamps and dies that we have been peeking over the last couple of days are available in the Fresh Out of the Oven Department!

Today the DT is sharing projects made with some of the new dies and we are showing how you can use the same die in totally different ways~fun, right?  I am using the new Shades of Thanks Die on my projects today.

For my first card, I cut the tree out with white cs and colored it with Copic markers.  I used some Echo Park Paper Co. For the Record 2 dp and added a border with the Open Scallop Border Die.  I used lots of layers and added some stitching .  I also popped the tree up on foam squares for some dimension.  Here's a close up:

I just love the detail that Taylor puts into her dies!  Gorgeous!

Next, I made a very CAS card using this same die.  This time, I used the negative of the Shades of Thanks tree by cutting it out of a white card stock and then backing it with some sage colored cs.  I stamped a sentiment from the new set Happily Ever After and added a satin bow.  Here is a close up of the tree:

Two totally different ways to use this beautiful die!

Make sure you check out the rest of the Baker's Dozen blogs to see what they came up with today, and have fun shopping!
