Taylored Expressions Thankful For You Tag

Hello!  I am soooooo excited!!!  Why?  Because it is almost FALL!!!!  I just love fall.  I know I say it every year, but the colors, the cooler weather, and the pumpkins!  I ADORE pumpkin images, so today I decided to ink up this adorable cart and the pumpkins from the Taylored Expressions set A Bushel & A Peck.

I stamped the cart with Memento Tuxedo Black, and then stamped it again and cut out the top part to use as a mask.  I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to align the pumpkins and then colored the image with Copics.  I cut it out with Circle Nestabilities, and then sponged around the image with Ranger Antique Linen Distress Ink.  I stamped the sentiment from A Bushel & a Peck onto a Banner Stacklets 1 Die.  The dp is some new Doodlebug Happy Harvest which I LOVE!  For the shape of the tag I used the Tag Stacklets 1 Dies. Here's a close up:

Well I'm off to help my hubby.  We have a ton of projects we want to get done over the 3 day weekend.  I hope we can squeeze it all in:)  Have a wonderful day!

Taylored Expressions August Studio Challenge

Hello!  It's time for the Baker's Dozen Studio Challenge. This is a monthly opportunity for the Taylored Expressions team to share what makes our stamping studios hum. Each month we have a fun, crafty question or theme so we can share our favorites, some tips and tricks, stamping advice and more!

The question for August is:

The Sky's the Limit! There are so many ways to create sky backgrounds for our cards and projects. Often times, our blog readers are left staring at a beautiful sky and asking "How'd she do that?"
Show us one of your favorite ways to create a pretty sky background and make sure we know how to re-create it!

I'm not much of an expert when it comes to sky backgrounds so I can't wait to read about all of the different techniques!  My favorite way to create a sky bg is to use the fabulous Taylored Expressions Cloud Border Die, a sponge dauber, and an ink pad.  Today I used SU Baja Breeze:

To start, I stamped these adorable snowmen from the TE set The Cool Crowd with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them up with Copics.  I then stamped the image once again and quickly cut it out to use as a mask.

I placed the mask over my image and started sponging the border of the Cloud Border Die.

I moved the die down and sponged again

and again

and again, making sure to keep my mask in place.

This is what it looks like when I'm done, and here is the finished card:

I added the snowy hill using a Build a Scene Rolling Hills Die and the border was cut with the Open Scallop Border Die.  I also stamped the sentiment onto a Label Stacklets 3 Die.  The dp is My Mind's Eye Winter Wonderland.

I hope you enjoy all of the sky background tutorials today!  Thank you so much for stopping by and have a terrific Tuesday!

Have a Great Day!

Hello!  School starts here on Monday and I have to admit, I'm a little excited about having all 3 of my kiddos in school for the first time:)  I've been dreaming about the peace and quiet LOL!  My kids are a little nervous about starting school, especially my daughter who did online school at home last year.  We've moved to a new house in a new town, so she's had several changes which can be a little scary.

I want to cheer them up a little bit on Monday, so I made a couple of happy cards using some fabulous stamps and dies from Taylored Expressions!  The darling bus and sentiment are from the new set Classroom Cuties  and I cut the bus out using the coordinating Back to School Dies.  The scene was created using the Build a Scene Sunshine, and Build a Scene Rolling Hills Dies, and the border was cut with the new Blackboard & Accessories Die.  I also used a Banner Stacklets 1 Die for the sentiment.  Here's a close up:

I hope they like them:)  The dp is Echo Park Paper Co. Paradise Beach.

Well I gotta go get ready for company!  Thank you so much for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!

I used this adorable image and sentiment from the set I Ruff You!  I think I may give this to Carson for his first day of Kindergarten on Monday (I hope I don't bawl like a baby like I did when Avery started Kindergarten LOL!)  I colored the image up with Copics and stamped the sentiment onto a YNS Fishtail/Banner Die.  The dp is Echo Park Paper Co. A Boy's Life.

Make sure you check out the YNS Challenge Blog to see more projects from the DT and to play along!  Thank you so much for stopping by and have a fabulous Friday!

Taylored Expressions August Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

Hello!  We have a special blog hop for you today at Taylored Expressions, to show inspirational projects using this month's Stamp of the Month and the August Key Ingredients Kit!  I absolutely LOOOOOOVE them both (and I'm not even a camper LOL)

For my project today I decided to make a fun little step card.  I knew I wanted to create a scene, so I also used several Build a Scene dies that were just released:)

I used the adorable camper image and the tree images from S'more Fun and cut them out with the coordinating Around the Campfire Dies.  I cut the mountain using the Build a Scene Mountian Tops and the hill in front was cut with the Build a Scene Rolling Hills.  I also used the Build a Scene Swirly Clouds and the Build a Scene Sunshine.  I just couldn't help myself!  These things are addicting!!!  I also added the sentiment and cut it out to look like a sign in the ground.  This card just makes me happy, and I know that it will make someone else happy too!

All of the paper and ribbon I used came from the August Key Ingredients Kit!
Make sure you check out the rest of the DT's blogs for more fabulous projects today and thank you so much for stopping by!  I am ALMOST done unpacking boxes inside our new house, unfortunately the garage still looks like an episode of Hoarders LOL.  Oh well, at least we're making progress!  Have a great day!

I stamped the mug, ice, and straw image with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and cut it out with the coordinating Mason Jar Glass & Lid Dies.  I then stamped the lemon, cut it out and layered it on top of the mug.  All of the images were colored with Copics.  The sentiment was stamped onto a Banner Stacklets 1 Die and I added a border with the Open Scallop Border Die.  The dp is Echo Park Paper Co. A Perfect Summer.

I have two projects for you today, and first up I am sharing a card I made with the new set A Classy View.  This is an adorable new set that coordinates with the previously released Arched Window Die and the Picture Window Die.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with Copics. I used some fun My Mind's Eye Collectable Notable dp and cut one of the layers using a Banner Stacklets 2 Die.  I used another Banner Stacklets 2 Die for the sentiment.  The border was cut with the Notepaper Border Die. Such a fun image for those fabulous teachers out there!

Next up I have a card made with an awesome new set called Chalkboard Elements! Chalkboards are so trendy right now, and this set is full of so many sentiments and shapes that you can mix and match!  Taylor is also releasing a fabulous new die set called Blackboard & Accessories Dies~Love!!!

For my card I stamped both sentiments and the swirly image with VersaMark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I was so proud because it came out so perfect on my first attempt LOL!  I cut it out with the new Blackboard Die and added the banner using the Fly Your Flag 1 with Coordinating Die stamp set. The fishtail flag was cut with a Banner Stacklets 1 Die.
