Suzie Q Sketch

2:47 PM 5 Comments
Ok, so I have some fantastic news!!! I have been chosen to be a January Guest Designer for a new company called InStyle Stamps!!! I'm so excited. So far there are 7 adorable stamps to choose from and you can view them here:

www.instylestamps.com

For today's sketch challenge on SCS I used Suzie Q. Isn't she the cutest!?! I colored her in with a combination of Copic markers, SU markers, and a Zig marker with an aquapainter. I wasn't sure if that would work, but it did hahaha! All of the paper is from DCWV except the brown which is Bazzil. I paper pieced the bags with the polka dot dp, added brads to the corners of the panels, and a zigzag stitch around the perimeter. I computer generated the sentiment and cut that out with a Shapeabilities Ribbon Tag. The inside says...than a fun day of shopping with a wonderful friend! I hope you like it, and thanks for stopping by!

Ava's Birthday Card

5:30 PM 2 Comments
My daughter's best friend turns 4 in a couple of weeks and I thought this sweet Isabelle image from My Favorite Things would be perfect for her card : ) I also got to play with some of my new toys ~ yay! I stamped the image and her dress, colored them in, cut out the dress and adhered that to her body. I cut the image out with my Oval Nestabilities, and sponged Pretty in Pink around the edges. I popped that up on a Labels 2 Nestie that I embossed with the Swiss Dots CB Folder. I sewed a zigzag stitch around the dp and pink panel. The sentiment was stamped onto one of the Shapeabilities Ribbon Tags which I looped some pink satin ribbon through. I added 4 small pearls to the right side of the ribbon, and a white bow to tie the left side. I hope you like it, and thanks for stopping by!

Fun & Funky Fold Card

12:36 PM 2 Comments

This is for today's Try A New Technique Challenge on SCS to create a fun and funky fold card. You can see the challenge and tutorial here:
The base of my card was made with Real Rd cs. When I was done folding, I added triangular pieces of My Mind's Eye DP to the front. I stamped butterflies from Verve's Fluttering By with Certainly Celery and Pumpkin Pie, cut them out and adhered them to circles cut with my Circle Nestabilities. To keep the card closed I tied the orange ribbon around. I stamped the sentiment and cut it out using the top of a Nestabilities Labels One dye.
For the inside I simply cut out the orange and white panels with my Labels One Nesties, and stamped the sentiment from Verve's Birthday Surpise. I hope you like it, and thanks for stopping by!

Non-Holiday Thank You

3:32 PM 4 Comments
This is for today's Limited Supplies Challenge on SCS to create any kind of card as long as it's not related to the holidays : ) We weren't even supposed to use red or green. I also incorporated this week's sketch challenge.

I stamped SU Upsy Daisy with Pumpkin Pie ink. Cut that image out with my new Nestabilities Large Labels, and layered that on a Chocolate Chip rectangle. The layer below that is some Bo Bunny plaid, which you can hardly see, also layered on a Chocolate Chip rectangle. The large orange panel is from SU Summer Picnic DSP. I stamped the sentiment from SU Lovely Labels with Pumpkin Pie. Used a 1 1/4" Circle Punch to punch it out and popped it up on a foam square on top of the scalloped circle. I punched little holes in the scalloped circle with a 1/16" punch. I attached the top layer to the WW and sewed a straight stitch around the card. I added brads to the corners, and attached both layers to the Chocolate Chip base. I added some Diamond Stickles to the flowers for some sparkle : ) I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and thanks for stopping by!

Birdhouse Ornament

11:48 AM 3 Comments
Isn't this birdhouse ornament the cutest!!! You can find the template for this on Nichole Heady's blog here:

I used Ruby Red and Chocolate Chip CS. I really stayed very basic. I didn't stamp the cs although I may try that next time. I added the Prima Poinsettia and the sprigs punched with the Martha Stewart Fern Punch. I added an eyelet to the center of the roof, looped the cording through and tied a knot under the roof. I stamped Merry Christmas from Verve's Ornamental Christmas and punched that out with the SU Word Window Punch. I pierced a hole in the sentiment and used a jump ring to attach it to the cording. So simple! I hope you like it, and thanks for stopping by!

I've been wanting to try the freestyle sewing, but I've been nervous, so I went for it today! I really like the result : ) I stamped Giftabella With Hat twice, then cut out the present and popped that up on a foam square. I colored her in using SU Ruby Red, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, and Baja Breeze reinker and aquapainter. I added Stickles to the gift and hat for some sparkle. The DP is My Mind's Eye, and CS is Ruby Red, WW, and DCWV. The changes I made are that I used a different Bella, different paper, added pearls to the corners, added buttons, and sewed instead of paper piercing. I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Boy

5:08 PM 2 Comments
Wow, this sure has been a busy week! I've hardly had any time to sit down and make anything, and it's killing me! I squeezed in some time yesterday to make this quick card for a little friend of ours who is turning two tomorrow : ) I followed the sketch challenge on SCS which you can see here:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=404815

The airplane stamp is from Martha Stewart's Clear Toy Transportation stamp set. I stamped the image twice with Old Olive and colored in the wing, star, window, and propeller with Brocade Blue and Real Red. I cut those out and popped them up on the other plane, then cut that plane out and popped that up on the rectangular panel. I stamped the Happy Birthday with a sentiment from My Favorite Things You Take The Cake. The DP is from K&Company. I added the ribbon following the sketch and added silver brads to the corners. Hopefully little Ryan will like his birthday card! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Recycled Wishes

4:28 PM 1 Comments

I made this for today's Limited Supplies Challenge on SCS found here:
The challenge was to use recycled materials on your card. I embossed this Real Red panel with the CB Argyle Folder for another project, but ended up not using it, so I used it here: ) I also have a large bag of old, used buttons, and I happened to find 3 red ones that were the same! The image I used is My Favorite Things You Take The Cake. This was the first time I've used this set and I love it! I stamped the image onto WW and onto the green Debbie Mumm DP. I cut out the dress and attached it to the white image. I had to cut that whole image out because the main stamp has her holding a cake, but I wanted her to hold Christmas presents. I stamped the presents, colored them with Real Red and Old Olive, cut them out and attached her and the presents to a white square that I cut with my Square Nestabilities. The scalloped border was made with my SU scalloped border punch. The sentiment is from Verve's Wonderful Wishes. Have a wonderful weekend, and thanks for stopping by!

Basic Vanilla Birthday

12:47 PM 6 Comments
This is for today's color challenge on Splitcoast to use Basic Black (BB), Very Vanilla(VV), and Sahara Sand(SS). I had a really hard time with this combination, and still don't LOVE the result! I used black as the base of my card, the sand color (I don't have any actual Sahara Sand) in the middle, and layered the top with Vanilla and Black. I used the CB Swiss Dots folder on the Vanilla and Black layers, and a Martha Stewart border punch on the bottom. For my image, I stamped the Upsy Daisy image from SU onto VV with Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed it with a clear glittery embossing powder. I cut those out with my Rectangle Nestabilities, popped it up on foam squares, added the ribbon and sentiment, and it was complete! Not perfect, but complete. Thanks for stopping by!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!! This week's featured stamper on Splitcoast is Dawn a.k.a. flowergal36! She has an awesome gallery which you can see here:
The rules when casing somebody's card is that you have to change at least 2 things. In this case, I used a different image, changed the color of the scalloped frame, and added the brads. You can see Dawn's adorable card here:
I stamped the Penny Black mouse image twice, cut out the cupcake and popped that up on foam squares. I also added some Stickles to the frosting for a little sparkle : ) The paper I used is Ruby Red, Kiwi Kiss, and Bella Rose DSP all from Stampin' Up. I used circle punches for the sentiment. Sketch Challenge

11:20 PM 3 Comments
Hello! I'm getting this on here very late because today was my youngest son's 1st birthday! My family drove down early and we had a small party for him this evening : ) It's kind of sad because I know he's my last baby, but on the other hand, there is a lot to look forward to as well! Anyway, this was the card I made for today's sketch challenge on Splitcoast which can be found here:

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=400454

The colors I used are Baja Breeze and Real Red cardstock, and Stampin' Up Ski Slope Designer Series Paper. I added a zigzag stitch around the DSP panel and I used my Snowflake Cuttlebug Folder to emboss the red strip down the middle. I popped the image panel up on foam squares and added Stickles to the snowflakes and also to the punched snowflakes (I can't seem to get away from those punched snowflakes this week!) The stamp I used is a Penny Black stamp. Isn't he cute! I put brads in all the corners and it was complete! Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Box In A Bag

5:37 PM 3 Comments
I decided to make a project for the Verve challenge that can be found here:

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=399538

The challenge is to make anything but a card, or ABC challenge : ) I chose to make this cute box in a bag. You can find the instructions for this here:

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/boxinabag/

For my paper I used Scenic Route Sonoma DP, Kiwi Kiss, Very Vanilla, and Chocolate Chip. I followed the instructions for the bag, stamped my ornament image with VersaMark and embossed with copper embossing powder. I colored the image in with sponge daubers using my Kiwi Kiss ink pad, colored the stripes in with my Real Red marker, stamped the Merry Christmas with Chocolate Chip and cut it out. I raised it up with foam squares onto my squares that I cut with my Nestabilities. The snowflakes were punched with a Martha Stewart snowflake punch and I put a Kaiser green rhinestone in the middle of each one. I used polka dot red sheer ribbon to tie the tabs together, and Offray red ribbon for the bow on the ornament. I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

This is the card I made for today's Color Challenge on Splitcoast to use Going Gray, Really Rust, and Very Vanilla. I don't have any Going Gray, so I substituted some gray cs from DCWV. I stamped the tree on Very Vanilla with Chocolate Chip ink. I stamped the leaves with Really Rust and cut everything out. I adhered the leaves to the branches and adhered the finished tree to my square panel that I cut with Nestabilities. I popped the entire panel up on foam squares and placed that on the Very Vanilla panel that I put through the Swiss Dots CB folder. I stamped the sentiment and punched it out with a circle punch. I punched out a larger circle in Really Rust and used the Scalloped circle punch to punch out the gray. I used a 1/16" circle punch to punch little holes in the scallops and added brown brads to the corners. Then I mounted the whole thing onto the Really Rust base which measures 5x5. Hope you like it, and thanks for stopping by!

Ornamental Christmas Card

1:19 PM 3 Comments

I couldn't wait to make a card with my new stamp set from Verve called Ornamental Christmas which you can find here:
I stamped the ornament image with VersaMark on Berry cardstock from The Paper Company which you can find at Joann's. I heat embossed with silver embossing powder. I then stamped the image again on white cardstock and heat embossed with silver embossing powder and cut out the center so I could stamp my sentiment and color the stripes with Old Olive. I then attached that to the center of the Berry ornament. I cut out the whole ornament and adhered it the the white panel that I cut with my Rectangle Nestabilities. The green panel is Old Olive cardstock. The Berry panel was dry embossed using the Cuttlebug Snowflake Folder. I added silver brads, the Prima poinsettia, and an Offray Cranberry bow and it's complete! Hope you like it, and thanks for stopping by!

Gift Card Holder

12:22 PM 3 Comments

Today's Try A New Technique Challenge on SCS was to make this adorable gift card holder! The tutorial is found here: http://heroarts.com/blogs/club/2008/10/29/watch-it-wednesday-mini-card-with-a-surprise/

For my card I used some patterned paper from the Ski Slope DSP from Stampin' Up, Baja Breeze, and Whisper White. The stamp set is called Snow Swirled, also from SU. I stamped my tree with VersaMark, and heat embossed with silver embossing powder. I added the little pearls to the centers of the snowflakes on the tree, and a bow to the top. The snowflakes were punched with a Martha Stewart punch and I added Icicle Stickles to the tips. I used rectangle Nestabilities to cut out the image and add the scalloped frame. Inside I cut 2 panels out of white cs sized 3.75"x3.75" and stamped my sentiment. The other side can be used to write a little note : ) I used my 1 1/4" circle punch and a slightly larger circle Nestability to layer my circles and the SU Scalloped Circle Punch to create my little flap. Another snowflake was added to the center. Hope you like it, and thanks for stopping by!

Thanksgiving Place Cards

4:42 PM 2 Comments

Every year we host Thanksgiving. I always enjoy decorating the table, and thought I would make some pretty place cards.

I used Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, and Old Olive cardstock for my colors. I stamped the pumpkin image which is from a retired Stampin Up set called Harvest Hello that I found on Ebay : ) I colored the image in with Copic markers, and cut it out. I punched a 1 1/4 inch circle out of Very Vanilla and distressed it with some brown ink. I punched the scalloped circle with the SU Scallop Circle punch and used a little 1/16" Circle Punch to punch little holes all the way around. I adhered the circle to the scalloped circle, and then popped the pumpkins up using foam squares. I printed out everyone's names on the computer using Edwardian Script font and cut them out. The Chocolate Chip panel is dry embossed with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. I added brads to the 2 corners, and a spiral clip to the top left corner with some ribbon. The base is the Pumpkin Pie. I hope you like them, and thanks for stopping by!

Baby Shower

2:00 PM 3 Comments

Welcome! This is my first official day as a blogger! I have gotten very hooked on stamping and paper crafting, and people are always asking how I made this or that, so now I can post the details on here! I'm starting my blog off with some items that I made for my friend's baby shower. Shown here are the invitation, a table decoration, and the favors. All of the items were made with Green Tea Designer Series Paper (DSP) from Stampin' Up. The cardstock is Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, Old Olive, and Certainly Celery from Stampin' Up as well. The image is from the She's All That set also from SU. I stamped the image with Baja Breeze ink onto the Baja Breeze cardstock. The ovals were cut out with Oval Nestabilities. The paint can was simply wrapped with the paper and ribbon, and I used the image, flowers, and sentiment to cover the seams. The flowers were made with a flower punch, and pearls were added to the center. The large flowers were cut with my Cricut machine and I added a punched flower and button to the center. The nugget candy was wrapped with paper (1 inch x 3 inches) and a punched flower was glued to the top. The little bag was a template I got from Splitcoast Stampers called Leigh's Totally Totes. Thanks for looking and I hope you stop by again!
