CAS Bella's Bloom

11:54 AM 5 Comments
Hello and happy Friday! I wasn't going to play in any of the challenges today, because I have a lot of other projects I need to finish up, but when I saw that the Limited Supplies Challenge was to create a CAS~Clean And Simple card, I thought, I can make a quick card! I inked up my pretty flower from SU Bella's Bloom for the first time. I colored the flower with a Regal Rose marker and the stem with an Old Olive marker. I cut out the flower with my paper trimmer~No Nesties! I used my SU Scallop Border Punch to create the scallop on the Pink Pirouette layer, added a ribbon and 3 pearls, and it was done! Super quick and easy, and I really like it! Thank you so much for stopping by, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Copic Angel

12:34 PM 3 Comments
Hello! I'm actually getting my card uploaded fairly early today! I made this for two challenges~ today's Ways To Use It Challenge on SCS to use some form of alcohol, and a sketch from the super talented Jackie Pedro! For my alcohol I used Copic markers to color in this adorable angel from Whipper Snapper. This was the first time I've attempted to outline an image with gray, and I think I need to get a lighter gray lol. Because the sentiment is part of the stamp, I used a button to follow Jackie's sketch. I added a twine bow to the top. This dp is from the retired SU Ginger Blossom DSP, and the base of the card is retired Groovy Guava. Thank you so much for stopping by!

Valentine Ginger

4:13 PM 5 Comments
Hello and Happy Wednesday! It's not too happy in my household because I have 2 sick children : ( My 4 y.o. daughter and 14 m.o. son have pretty bad colds, and they've been on the cranky, miserable side. Needless to say, trying to get anything accomplished today has been a real joy! I started working on this at 9am and finally am getting it done and posted at 4pm so....

Anyway, I've had so much fun being a guest designer for InStyle Stamps! Their images are just the cutest and can be used for so many different occasions! I chose to make a gift set today, and used Ginger. How cute is she planting a little valentine for someone special! I used today's sketch on SCS. The paper is Bella Rose DSP from SU and the cs is Chocolate Chip, Ruby Red, and Pink Pirouette. I added a zigzag stitch to both sides of the red panel, and scallops to the floral panel. I cut the pink heart out with a Sizzix Die and ran it through the Swiss Dots CB Folder. I added the bow and pearls, and Glossy Accents to the little heart that Ginger is planting. The Sentiment is from Stamping Bella, and the little heart is from Verve Hearts On Fire. You can find instructions for the Gable Box here I'm going to be making several more of these! They are so fun! Thank you so much for stopping by : )

Whimsy February Guest Designer Call

3:10 PM 6 Comments
Whimsy Stamps is looking for a February guest designer! Details can be found here

We were to follow a sketch found on Denise's blog and our image was supposed to be an animal image. Unfortunately I do not have any Whimsy stamps but I'm hoping to change that soon!

I used this cute little duck from Darcies, stamped him twice, cut him out, and popped him up on foam squares. I colored him in with Copic markers then added Glossy Accents to his bill and feet. I added some Stickles around the outline of the egg. I stamped the sentiment and punched it out with a circle punch. I sponged it with So Saffron and layered it on the other circle punches. I added a straight stitch around the perimeter of the card and brads to the corners. The dp is from SU Washington Apple DSP and the base of the card is Bashful Blue. Thank you so much for stopping by!

Hello! I made this card for today's Try A New Technique Challenge on SCS to create a card with paper pleats on it. I thought this would be the perfect challenge to use Chat's aka nitestamper's scallop flower. You can find the tutorial for this awesome flower here

I also incorporated today's Mojo Monday sketch which you can find here

I used this gorgeous Scenic Route Sonoma dp and added some paper piercing using an Embossing Queen brass template. The leaf stamp is from SU Embrace Life, and the sentiment is from SU Best Yet. The pearls are from Kaiser. Thank you so much for stopping by!

I've Been Tagged : )

6:05 PM 1 Comments
Michelle tagged me, so I'm going to play along, even though I also do not have 6 other bloggers to tag! I'll tag my mom and my friend Delinah. I'm not crafty with my linking ability, so I'll just copy and paste their blogs:
Michelle: http://insidemyownprivateidaho.blogspot.com/
Mom~Linda:http://lindaslovlies.blogspot.com/
Delinah: http://dubosedesigns.blogspot.com/

Here are the rules:
1. Link to the person who tagged you (as I did above).
2. Mention the rules.
3. Tell 6 things about yourself.
4. Tag 6 other bloggers by linking to them.
5. Go to each person's blog and leave them a comment to let them know they've been tagged.

6 things about me:

1)I don't like to cook. My husband does most of the cooking for us, and my 4 y.o. daughter loves to help! She says she wants to be a chef one day. That would be pretty ironic, considering she has a mom who hates the kitchen and a grandma who doesn't cook either!

2)I'm a perfectionist. I could have a card pretty much completely done, then accidently smear some ink or something, and I'll have to start over. I just can't handle it if there is a smudge, or something is uneven. Sometimes I'll let it go, but it will bother me forever!

3)I have a special needs son. Landon just turned 6 but is cognitively about the age of a 9 month old. He walks, but has no speech, and very little comprehension. He's pretty happy most of the time, but he likes to attack his baby brother, and we really have to watch the biting!

4)We currently live in Florida, but I grew up in Wyoming. My husband and I have lived in Colorado, South Carolina, and Pennsylvania since we've been married. I would love to move back to the Carolinas. I miss the mountains, and the changing seasons!

5)My husband says I'm stubborn, strong-willed, and have a temper. My parents would say the same thing, so I guess it's true : ) People who don't really know me, say they would never guess it, so I must put on a sweet front lol!

6)I was a nurse before I became a stay at home mom. I hated working in the hospital, but loved my job as an ob/gyn nurse in a doctor's office in South Carolina. I don't know if I'll ever go back to nursing. I'm hoping I'll get to be a stay at home mom/crafter forever : )

That's it about me! A little break from the normal how to make a card post ; ) Thanks for stopping by!

Basic Black

5:56 PM 2 Comments
Happy Friday everyone! I combined two challenges today~the Limited Supplies Challenge on SCS and Amber's Viva La Verve sketch week 4. The LSC was to use black as the base of our card, and the twist for Amber's sketch was to add flowers. I stamped the heart from Verve's Hundred Hearts with River Rock onto Very Vanilla. I stamped the verse also from Verve over the heart with Versafine Onyx Black. I used my Nestabilities Labels Two dies and popped that up over the ribbon. I added a straight stitch around the card, black pearls to the corners, and punched the flowers out of Basic Black and River Rock. I curled them up to add some dimension. Thank you so much for stopping by!

I paper pieced a skirt for her, and added Glossy Accents to the pot. I added a straight stitch around the card, and some sponging with So Saffron around the image and sentiment which is from Verve's Wonderful Wishes. Big Butterfly

4:00 PM 5 Comments
Hello! I finally got some stamping time today ; ) I've been working on a baby boy chipboard album for a friend of a friend, and haven't had a chance to make a card! Anyway, this is for today's sketch challenge on SCS which you can see here:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=131383&d=1232513874

I was at Joann's this morning, and I picked up this clear stamp set from Inkadinkado called Garden Delight. When I came home and saw the sketch, I thought this butterfly would be perfect! I stamped it with VersaMark and heat embossed it with black ep. I sponged it with Ruby Red, Pumpkin Pie, and More Mustard. The dp is from Basic Grey Ambrosia and the sentiment is from the SU Upsy Daisy set. I used an oval punch to punch it out, and sponged the edges with More Mustard. Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Viva La Verve Week 3

3:48 PM 3 Comments
This is for the 3rd week of Viva La Verve. Amber came up with another awesome sketch!!! The twist this week was to use some pink~which I used plenty of! I used my gorgeous Hearts On Fire set from Verve once again : ) The dp is SU Sweet Always DSP which I can't get enough of! I stamped the hearts from Verve with Regal Rose ink, and popped them up onto Chocolate Chip punched circles. I added a straight stitch around the card, and brads to the corners. The middle panel is some shimmery pink cs that I ran through the D'vine Swirls CB folder. I made the scalloped border using the SU Scalloped Border Punch. I added the bow to the corner, and it was done! Sounds simple, but I actually played with this card for about 3 hours! Anyway, hope you like the outcome, and thanks for stopping by!

CASEing Lori

10:38 PM 5 Comments
Hello! I'm getting this on late today! I made this for today's Featured Stamper challenge on SCS. This week we are CASEing Lori Craig a.k.a. stamp_momma! Her gallery totally rocks! I chose to case this card:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1026158?cat=500&ppuser=4981

I just love the color combo and the cool layout! For my dp I used Ski Slope DSP, Sweet Always DSP and Bella Rose DSP. The base of the card is Pumpkin Pie and the Nestabilities Scalloped Circle is Kiwi Kiss. I punched the scalloped border out of WW. The little bird is from Imaginisce and I made a little nest out of Prima flowers and the Martha Stewart Fern Punch. I added a zigzag stitch just like Lori did, and put my brads in the left corner instead of on the circle. The sentiment is from Verve. Thank you so much for stopping by and saying hello!

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=411544

I used my new stamp set from Verve called Hearts On Fire. Isn't it gorgeous!?! I stamped the background heart with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and popped the filagree heart that I stamped with Real Red on top. I cut out the envelope with my Cricut using the New Arrival cartridge. The size was set to 2 1/2". I ran that through the Swiss Dots CB Folder. The pink layer was embossed with the Textile CB Folder. I stamped the sentiment also from Verve and cut it out using a Shapeabilities Ribbon Tag Die. Using the die as a mask, I sponged it with Pretty In Pink. I added the ribbon and brads, and it was complete! Pretty simple. Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend!

Relax Box

4:52 PM 4 Comments

Today's Try a New Technique on SCS was to make this adorable little box! You can find the instructions here:
I used this pretty dp from Melissa Frances, and decided to fill it with bath salts. I used Sheree from InStyle Stamps as my image. Doesn't she look so peaceful taking her bath!?! I think this would make a really nice gift for any bath lover : ) I colored the bathtub with Certainly Celery ink and an aquapainter, and Sheree with Copics. I added some Stickles to the bubbles. I cut out the image with my Nestabilities Labels Two and used that as a mask to sponge the edges with Pretty In Pink. I added brads to the corners, a spiral clip with ribbon, and a Making Memories flower. I popped the image panel up on foam squares, and computer generated the sentiment which I punched out with a SU oval punch.
You can find Sheree at www.instylestamps.com

Viva La Verve Week 2

6:18 PM 1 Comments
Happy Saturday! Hope you're having a great weekend so far! Today I made a card for week two of Viva La Verve. Amber created another awesome sketch for us to use! The twist this week was to add some bling. I added 3 little rhinestones on my butterfly~not much but it counts, right? I used these pretty silhouettes from Verve's Abundant Blessings set, stamped them with Chocolate Chip ink, then stamped off (I think that's what it's called) to create the lighter images. I distressed the edges of my More Mustard and Very Vanilla layers with the Tim Holtz distressing tool, and added a zigzag stitch around the perimeter. Then I ran that through the Swiss Dots folder. I punch my butterfly out of Baja Breeze, and found this Martha Stewart ribbon that was close in color to make my bow. I cut the corner filagree out with my Cricut Home Accents cartridge. I added brown brads to the corners, distressed the sentiment and image panel with Ranger Tea Dye Distress Ink and popped them up on dimensionals. I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Abundant Thank You

8:56 PM 1 Comments
I'm trying to catch up on all the Verve sketches today, so I have this and one more card to upload : ) This is for Verve's VSFL1 which was a color challenge to use Riding Hood Red, Blush Blossom, and Kraft. I am still trying to build up my SU color supply, so I had to use Ruby Red and Pink Pirouette instead. This is also for the Verve Mojo Monday sketch.

I used my new set which I LOVE!!!~Abundant Blessings from Verve. I stamped all three of the flower sizes in VersaMark onto Pink Pirouette paper and heat embossed them with black ep. I cut them out and stacked them on top of each other adding a dimensional in between layers. I lightly sponged the edges with Pretty in Pink. I added a straight stitch around the dp panel, and pearls all around : ) I heat embossed one more small flower and popped it up in the corner. I added a scalloped edge using a Martha Stewart border punch, and stamped the sentiment from SU Upsy Daisy with Memento Tuxedo Black and punched it out with a SU oval punch. The Kraft panel was cut out with a Nestabilities Labels Two die, and embossed with the CB Swiss Dots Folder. I hope you like it, and thanks for stopping by!

Viva La Verve Jan01

3:45 PM 2 Comments
Hello! There is a new weekly sketch challenge that you can find on the Verve forum on SCS called Viva la Verve! It's hosted by the very talented Amber Hight and you can find it here:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?p=12548744#post12548744

For this sketch I chose to use this super fun dp from My Mind's Eye called Just Dreamy 2 : ) I paired it with my favorite Verve cupcake from the Cupcake Affair set and the sentiment is from Verve's Wonderful Wishes. We were also supposed to add hardware, so I used brads. I paper pieced the cupcake, and stamped the flowers twice so I could cut them out and pop them up on foam squares. I then popped the whole cupcake up on foam squares on top of the Circle Nestabilities. I added the 3 ribbon tabs, just because I almost can't stand to make a card without ribbon, hahaha! I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

A Few Of My Favorite Things

5:37 PM 5 Comments
Hello and Happy New Year! Today's Limited Supplies Challenge on SCS was to create a card using our favorite things : ) We were supposed to use our favorite color combo, one of our favorite stamps, and 3 of our favorite embellishments. I chose Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, and Chocolate Chip for my color combination. I just love blues, greens, and browns! For my image I chose this adorable stamp from Stamping Bella called Eloise Greengrass. This is the first time I've gotten to use her, but I've been dying to get her since I first saw her on a card on SCS : ) The 3 embellishments I chose were my Circle Nestabilities, Ribbon, and Brads. I also cheated and used some glitter : ) The dp is from Ski Slope DSP. Thank you so much for stopping by!
