This Week's Sketch and Ways to Use It

Hello! I keep getting behind on my blog posts, so I have two cards to show you today : ) This first one I made today for the Ways to Use It Challenge on SCS which was to use cardboard on our cards. I decided to look through my Sizzix Original Dies and came across this starfish. Immediately I thought of this lighthouse set from Artful INKables called A Friendly Light. I stamped it with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with Copics. I colored the lighthouse with a Mellow Moss Stampin' Write marker. I added the Baja Breeze panel to the bottom and embossed it with the D'vine Swirls CB Folder to look like water. If you wet the top of cardboard, you can peel back the smooth layer to expose the corrugated layer. I did that and then cut out my starfish. Some ribbon and Dew Drops finished it off!
This next card I made for yesterday's Sketch Challenge. I changed it up a little bit by adding the large circle to the corner to accomodate this sweet teddy from the SU Cute & Cuddly set : ) The circles were punched out of dp from K & Co with my SU 1 1/4" Circle Punch. I embossed the Very Vanilla panel with the CB Spots & Dots Folder. I sponged Bashful Blue on the sentiment tag, and paper pieced the bears tummy with some coordinating dp. That's about it! I'm praying for a little sunshine today after 3 days of cloudy skies and rain! My poor daughter is supposed to be taking her first swimming lessons this week, and they have all been cancelled due to weather :( Here's hoping you have sunshine where you are and thank you so much for stopping by!

Hi Kerri! Love both of your cards today, but especially that sweet baby card. I'm such a sucker for K&Co. I'm sure I've some of that paper in my stash! Great job!

Well, I'm partial to the lighthouse card, but the baby card is also adorable. Love and hugs, Mom

These cards are fantastic, Kerri! I love the lil' starfish on the first one. And that folder that you used on the second one, totally perfect for a baby card - - I have that one and don't think I've ever used it. Love your lil' image in the bottom corner too.

These both turned out terrific. The cardboard for the starfish is perfect! And those colors give such a great beachy feel.

The baby card is perfect. I love the patterned papers you used. The bear added on the bottom is a great finishing touch!
