Color Throwdown #220!

2:00 AM 13 Comments

Hello!  We have a fabulous new color combo for you this week at the Color Throwdown hosted by the fabulous Wanda!  I think this combo is just perfect for Christmas cards/projects which I still have a ton to make!  This is what I came up with this week:

I used this adorable stocking that I found in the Silhouette Online Store ~ 4 Christmas Icons by Lori Whitlock.  I just LOVE her stuff!  I cut out 3 stockings using Jillibean Soup Winter Tortellini and Spinach Soup dp.  I added a die cut star and button to each.  The background is embossed with the PTI Woodgrain Impression Plate, and the sentiment comes from the PTI set In The Meadow.

We hope you'll play along with us this week!  Just link your creations on the Color Throwdown Blog HERE, and make sure you check out the rest of the amazing DT projects while you're there!

Well, I have a 5 year old in the house today.  Yesterday was my youngest's birthday.  We took him out to dinner last night, but we're having a Batman/gymnastic party on Saturday:)  I'm trying to get some stuff made for the party so I'd better run!  Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful Wednesday!

It's Black Friday and time for the Baker's Dozen Studio Challenge and a BIG Black Friday Sale at Taylored Expressions!!!

We are releasing a brand new set of dies today~ the Labels Stacklets 3 which coordinates with the Frame It Up 1 Die!  These dies will be available today as part of the sale!

I am so excited to be participating in the Studio Challenge this month!  Here is the question:

As crafters, we often talk about a hand-crafted Christmas. How much stamping do you do for the holidays?  Do you mail hand-stamped cards, make gift packaging, tags, handmade gifts?  Or do you stamp year-round, but not so much for Christmas?  Please show us some handmade tags and share a tip or two on how to keep stamping fun for the holidays.

Unfortunately I don't have a lot of time to make too many hand-crafted gifts for the holidays.  I try to make as many hand-stamped cards as I can for my close friends and family.  I also LOVE making gift tags.  This year I am trying to make a few sets to hand out as gifts.

I also love to make little boxes which are perfect for gifting ornaments.  I think mixing it up with cards/tags/boxes keeps crafting fun for the holidays!  Here are some tags I made the other day using the adorable Taylored Expressions set~The Cool Crowd!

For this tag I used the smaller snowman from The Cool Crowd along with the Trim the Tree Dies, the Banner Day 1 Die, and I embossed one of the Totally Tags Dies to put behind the image.

For this tag I used my favorite snowman along with the Banner Day 1 Die and the Totally Tags Die.  I embossed the Totally Tags Die with the Cuttlebug Snowflake Embossing Folder for each tag.

Here is a close up of the final tag.  I used My Mind's Eye Winter Wonderland dp on all of the tags and added a punched snowflake with a pearl center to this one:)

It wouldn’t be Black Friday without a sale! Just enter coupon code BLACKFRIDAY2012 on your order at the TE Store Friday through Monday to save 10-30% off your entire order! The earlier you shop, the MORE you save! Details on the TE Store homepage.

Make sure you hop over to the Baker's Dozen Blogs to see what they have in store for you today!

I hope you have a super fun shopping day!  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Thanksgiving!

10:45 AM 1 Comments

Hello!  I hope you are having a wonderful day with your friends/family!  I wanted to pop in really quick and share the place cards I made using my PTI Friendship Jar set and dies.  The sentiment comes from the PTI set Fall Elegance.

So what are your plans today?  Who is going shopping tonight and who is waiting until tomorrow?  My BFF (that I shop with every year), my mom, and I have decided to head out tonight because my friend really wants to go to Toys R Us.  After that we'll hit one of the malls that is opening at midnight.  I'm much more of a night owl than a morning person, so I think this schedule may work, although I still think they've really messed up Thanksgiving and Black Friday with these 8 p.m. openings.  I liked it so much better when everything opened at 6 a.m.!  Have a wonderful, relaxing, delicious Thanksgiving!

Hello and happy hump day!  Wednesday means we have a new challenge for you at the Color Throwdown, and this week the fabulous Lynn Put is our hostess:)  I think this sweet little birdie she chose is just BEAUTIFUL!  Those colors are amazing!  I knew exactly what image I wanted to use as soon as I saw it:

This is one of the new stamps from Your Next Stamp named Holiday Joy Robin~ so sweet!  I colored this cutie the same colors as the inspiration picture and used a combo of Jillibean Soup Apple Cheddar Soup and Winter Tortellini and Spinach Soup.  I stamped the image twice, cut one out with Oval Nestabilities and embossed it with the CB Snowflake embossing folder.  I cut the bird out of the second stamped image and popped it up with a foam square.  The sentiment is one of 2 that comes with the set, and the layout is The Sweet Stop Sketch #183.

We hope you'll play along with us this week!  Just link your projects on the Color Throwdown Blog HERE, and make sure you check out the rest of the awesome DT creations while you're there!
