CASEing Michelle

11:23 PM 5 Comments
I made this for today's Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS. This week's FS is Michelle a.k.a. Justpaintingaround. Her gallery is so artistic! She does a beautiful job of creating scenes, which I am horrible at doing! I chose to CASE this card because I thought I might be able to pull off the floor : ) I drew in the floor on Chocolate Chip cs using a ruler and black marker. I added the strip of white to look like molding, and the striped dp from SU Bella Birds DSP for wallpaper. After I had that together, I cut out a panel using my Long Rectangle Nestabilities. I added the scalloped frame, then replaced the panel. I colored in this sweet Sarah Kay image called Fanny's Cuddle with Copics, cut her out, and popped her up on dimensionals. I added the Prima flowers with button centers as accents, and it was complete! I hope you like it and thank you so much for stopping by today : )

Black and White Plant Prints

12:34 PM 7 Comments
Happy Friday everyone! I have not done much this week, because I have not felt good : ( I'm still not feeling the greatest, but I thought today's Limited Supplies Challenge to make a black and white card would be fun. I kept my card very simple. I used my Circle Nestabilities to make a circle card. I stamped this beautiful floral silhouette from Artful INKables ~Plant Prints with VersaMark onto Basic Black cs and embossed with white ep. I added some paper piercing to the top of the circle, the ribbon, and the circle sentiment~from Artful INKables ~Basic Sentiments~and it was complete! Very CAS! Thank you so much for stopping by, and have a wonderful weekend! Hopefully I'll get my mojo back as I start feeling better : )

2:59 PM 10 Comments
Hello! Now that I have a couple of Whiff of Joy images, I thought it would be fun to participate in the WOJ Challenge this week : ) They challenged us to use green on our card, so I went with this pretty dp from SU Tea Party DSP. I stamped Willow With Umbrella twice, colored her in with Copics, and cut out the top of one of the umbrellas. I framed her with Rectangle Nestabilities. I cut a strip of the striped dp also from Tea Party DSP, and layered that with So Saffron. I added the decorative edge using a Fiskars Border Punch. Mini Easter Basket

3:45 PM 5 Comments
Today's Try a New Technique Challenge on SCS was to make one of these adorable little Easter baskets : ) You can find the template for these here. I used dp from K&Co~Dollhouse. I added the punched ferns, a flower punched with my SU 5 Petal Flower Punch, a Prima and a Kaiser pearl to the center. The handle is a strip of Very Vanilla and I added a scalloped edge to both sides. Very simple and NO stamping involved! That is rare for me! Somebody suggested using these for table settings. How cute would that be! Thank you so much for stopping by : )

CASEing Beate!

5:49 PM 7 Comments
This week's Featured Stamper on SCS is the incredible Beate Johns! I saw this card the other day right after she uploaded it, and immediately put it in my fav's. I just love the color combo, and the layout of the three different framed elements. I used dp from SU Urban Garden DSP. The stamps are from SU God's Beauty and retired Best Yet~sentiment. I used Circle Nestabilities for the circle frames, and Labels One Nestabilities for the gray frames. The butterfly was stamped with Kiwi Kiss twice and cut out. I sponged the edges with Baja Breeze, added some Stickles, and popped them up on foam squares. The flowers were stamped with Baja Breeze, cut out, and I added Dew Drops to the centers. The sprigs are punched out with the Martha Stewart Fern Punch. The sentiment was stamped with Basic Gray, and the leaf with Kiwi Kiss. I hope you like it, and thank you so much for stopping by!

10:14 PM 6 Comments
Hello! I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend so far! One of my daughter's friends had her birthday party today, and this is the card I made for her : ) It was a princess party, so I wanted to use pink and purple, and this SU Tea Party DSP fit the bill. I stamped Stamping Bella's~Eloise Greengrass twice, colored her in with Copics, and cut out a skirt and a flower. I curled the bottom of the skirt up, and glued the top half to the original image. The flower was popped up on a foam square. I added Stickles to the wings and shoes. I used CB D'vine Swirls, and Swiss Dots Folders to add some texture, and a Fiskar's Border Punch. The ribbon is from the SU Sale-A-Bration catalog, and the rhinestones are from Kaiser. I hope you like my girly card, and thank you so much for stopping by!

Spring Sunburst Dandies

12:45 PM 6 Comments
Happy Friday everyone! Today's Limited Supplies Challenge on SCS was to use a flower as our main image, and to use colors from the SU Soft Subtles color family. I pulled out my beautiful bloom from Artful INKables~Sunburst Dandies set. I just love it because you can use all kinds of different color combinations for the center and the outer blooms, and it's so easy! I based the colors around SU Tea Party DSP. I stamped the bloom with Almost Amethyst, and the center with So Saffron. The stem and leaf are Certainly Celery. I added a straight stitch around the perimeter and around the striped dp panel. The sentiment is from Artful INKables Basic Sentiments set and I punched that out with my Word Window Punch. I attached it to the ribbon with a silver jump ring, and added pearls to the centers of some of the flowers. I hope you like it, and thank you so much for stopping by! Have a fabulous weekend ; )

Spring Is Here!

5:39 PM 4 Comments
This week's Fun-Frilled theme is Spring! When I think of spring, I think of flowers, especially tulips : ) I used Verve's Miracles Blossom set once again. Isn't it just so fun! I stamped the tulip twice with Ruby Red, cut one out, and popped it up on foam squares. I stamped the leaves and stem with Old Olive and colored it in with a Pale Olive Copic Marker. The planter is stamped with Chocolate Chip and colored in with a Buttercup Yellow Copic. The sentiment comes from Penny Black's Garden Friends set (borrowed from my friend and neighbor) and I stamped it with Chocolate Chip and punched it out with SU Oval Punches. I'm trying to catch up on my Viva La Verve sketches so I followed the Mar02 sketch for my layout. The base is Kiwi Kiss, and I used my CB Swiss Dots Folder on the Pink Pirouette layer. The dp is from SU Bella Rose DSP. Thank you so much for stopping by today, and please play along to be eligible for Michelle's awesome blog candy!!!

Coup Party!

5:27 PM 3 Comments
Hello! Boy it has been a busy day! I spent my entire morning cooking (which I hate to do) at my daughter's school for a dinner they are having tonight at the church. We had to make baked ziti for 125 people! Guess who showed up to help? Pretty much my BFF and I! There were two others who helped for short periods of time, but for the most part it was the two of us. Talk about tiring. I already told my hubby, do not expect me to cook tonight lol! Then I made the rounds, picking up the kids, got home, got them down for their naps, and sat down to make a card!

This is for today's sketch challenge on SCS. I used this adorable Penny Black image that I borrowed from my mom. I stamped it twice, colored it in with Copics, cut out the balloon and flowers, and popped those up on foam squares. I layered the image panel onto some Rose Red cs with and added a scalloped edge. The sentiment is from MFT You Take The Cake, and I cut it out using my Ribbon Tag Trio Shapeabilities. I sponged Cameo Coral over the sentiment tag and added the Kiwi Kiss ribbon. The dp is from SU Raspberry Tart DSP. I added a zigzag stitch between the strips with my sewing machine, and put white brads in the corners. I hope you like it, and thank you so much for stopping by!

I stamped the flowers twice, cut them out and popped them up on foam squares. The sentiment is also popped up. Thank you so much for looking!

Hello! I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend! Some friend of ours came into town yesterday, and we had a fun night out~just adults! It's been a LONG time since my husband and I had a date night and it was fabulous : ) We went out to dinner, and sat outside because it was a perfect evening, then we put on our dancing shoes and went clubbing! Super fun! Today was all about the family, and we went to church, then walked to a nearby park where they were having a fair. My feet hurt now, but at least I got some exercise!

Anyway, I made this card for this week's Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge. This is the first time I've participated in one of Taylor's challenges, but I really liked the sketch this week, and thought I would give it a try! I inked up my SU Friends 24-7 set for the first time. I stamped the image twice, cut one of the birds out, and the second one I cut the bird and the branch. I popped the first bird up on top of the other bird with foam squares. I used my CB Textile folder to emboss the circle panel. The dp is SU Parisian Breeze DSP. Isn't it gorgeous! I added the scalloped border with my SU Scallop Border Punch and the ribbon and pearls. Thanks for stopping by!

Hello and happy Friday! I got some happy mail yesterday which included three Artful INKables sets! I just LOVE this silhouette from the Plant Prints set! I made this card for two challenges this week. The first is today's Limited Supplies Challenge to use any kind of bug on our card. The second is this week's CAS (clean and simple) challenge to use blue and green. I stamped this beautiful image with Not Quite Navy and cut it out with my long rectangle Nestabilities. I added the Kiwi Kiss scalloped frame. The base of the card is Not Quite Navy and I added the lattice texture using my Scor-Pal. I stamped the sentiment from Artful INKables Basic Sentiments with Not Quite Navy and punched it out with SU Oval Punches. The butterfly is a Martha Stewart Punch. I hope you like my very simple card and thank you so much for stopping by!

Going Green With Willow

12:43 PM 6 Comments
This is for today's Ways To Use It Challenge to go green! We could either use the color green, or use recycled materials. I decided to use the color green for my version : ) I used Whiff of Joy~Willow Baking Cookies as my image. I colored her with Copics to coordinate with my dp from DCWV Latte Matstack. I put some score lines on the white panel using my Scor-Pal, and added some stitching around the dp panels. I added the lacey border which reminded me of her apron, so I kind of tried to make the dp panels look like an apron. What do you think?

Two Projects Today!

12:23 PM 0 Comments
This first card is for today's sketch challenge on SCS. I finally broke down and bought a couple of Sarah Kay stamps. These images are just so precious and I couldn't resist them any longer lol! This stamp is called Precious Moments. I colored it in with Copic Markers and cut it out with an Oval Nestability. I then popped it up on foam squares on top of the Square Nesties. The dp is from the DCWV Citrus Matpack. I just love these colors! I distressed the outer edges with the Tim Holtz Distressing Tool, and distressed the image and sentiment panel with Ranger Antique Linen Distress Ink. I added a straight stitch around the perimeter and a zigzag stitch around the triangle. For accessories I added the brads, twine, and button.
This next project is for this week's Fun-Frilled challenge to make a St. Patrick's Day card or project. I've been wanting to make one of these round top boxes which you can find the template for here. I used this adorable Stampendous stamp called Lucky Bee Friends. I colored the image in with Copics, adhered it to some layered Circle Nestabilities cut from Summer Sun and Garden Green cs. The shamrocks were cut out of the dp that I found at Michael's. I computer generated the sentiment, because I thought it fit perfectly with these two little bee friends. I added the scalloped borders, and once again cut a couple of shamrocks out of the dp. I hope you like it and thank you so much for stopping by! Make sure to upload your St. Patrick's Day inspired creations to FUNF4 on SCS and be entered to win Michelle's fabulous blog candy!

Cupcake Treat Purse

3:11 PM 9 Comments
Hello! I hope you all had a nice weekend! When I saw today's Technique Lover's Challenge on SCS I had to play along! The challenge was to make one of these adorable treat purses and here is the tutorial. I decided to use my favorite cupcake which is from the Artful INKables~Birthday Best set. I paper pieced it using Raspberry Tart DSP from Stampin' Up. I adhered it to some layered Circle Nestabilities out of WW, Kiwi Kiss, and Cameo Coral. For the sentiment, I stamped it once on WW then again on CC. I punched the center out of the CC with a circle punch and adhered it to the sentiment on the WW. I hope that makes sense! I filled a little baggie with my favorite Easter candy~Brach's Fiesta Eggs and put them inside. I just love this little purse, and will definitely make more of them! Thank you so much for stopping by today : )

Verve Sketch~Happy Birthday Birdie

10:55 PM 6 Comments
Well, I didn't have too much time to stamp today. My mom is in town for the weekend, and we ran around this morning, went to lunch, went to a birthday party, went to dinner, and I finally had a minute this evening to make something : ) This is for today's Verve sketch which you can see here. I'm so excited for the big release tomorrow night! You can catch it all at the Verve forum on SCS : ) For this card I used Verve's Birthday Surprise set. I stamped the bird and gift twice, colored them in, cut out the hat, wing, and bow, and popped those up on dimensionals. I used my Square Nestabilities to cut them out, then I popped the squares up on foam tape. The dp is from DCWV Citrus Matpack, and the cs is Real Red. I Made A Card In 30 Minutes!

11:23 AM 8 Comments
Today's Limited Supplies Challenge on SCS was to make a 30 minute card. Yes, this is definitely a challenge for me! I usually play with a card for hours! I decided to make a 4x4 card, and used this adorable set~A Flower For All Seasons by SU. I stamped the image, colored it in, layered it with Nestabilities, added the strip of dp with the scallops, ran the base of the card through the CB Swiss Dots Folder, and added the ribbon! Very quick and easy, and I really should do this more often! Thank you so much for stopping by today, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Tea Box

6:12 PM 6 Comments
Ever since I saw this tutorial on Holly McMillen's blog, I've been wanting to make one of these adorable tea boxes!!! This past weekend I found this stamp set~Tea For Two by My Favorite Things~at a local stamp store, and I snatched it up : ) I just love this image, and the little mouse is just as sweet! I followed Holly's tutorial using Almost Amethyst for my box, and So Saffron for my lid. After I added the scallops, I ran the top through my Swiss Dots CB Folder. This was a two step process to get the whole thing embossed, so I had to be careful to line it up correctly. I added the ribbon to the top, but only to 3 sides, because I found if you wrap it all the way around, the top doesn't open properly. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored it with Copics, and cut it out. I cut the dp from SU Tea Party (how appropriate, huh?) with my Labels One Nestabilities, then popped my image up on foam squares. I stamped the sentiment, cut around it with my paper trimmer, and sponged Almost Amethyst along the edges. That was it! Thank you Holly for the wonderful tutorial! I can't wait to fill this up with some tea bags, and give it to someone special!

I stamped the tree trunks in Chocolate Chip, then used my Stamp-a-ma-jig (I'm really starting to love that thing) to stamp the trees in Almost Amethyst, Certainly Celery, and Pretty in Pink. The dp is from SU Tea Party DSP. I hope you like these Spring-y trees and thank you so much for stopping by!

Hello! This week, the Fun-Frilled team is making baby girl cards for our very own Miss Molly who was due yesterday! We hope you'll play along so Molly can look over your gorgeous creations, and help the time pass until baby Ryley decides to make her grand entrance : )

I decided to use this adorable new set from Stampin' Up called Cute & Cuddly. I just love this little bear! I stamped the bear twice, colored it in with Copics , cut one out and popped it up on foam squares. The dp comes from DCWV Nana's Nursery~Baby Girl collection, and I pulled the colors from that. I used Certainly Celery, So Saffron, and Pretty in Pink for my cs. I added a straight stitch around the perimeter, and attached the sentiment from SU Short & Sweet with a button. Crimped Blueberries

1:07 PM 5 Comments
Hello! This is for today's Try a New Technique Challenge on SCS to make a Crimped Envelope Pocket Card. I don't have a crimper, so I had to improvise by scoring the envelope : ) I used this fun sprig of blueberries from the Artful INKables set Berry Picking. I colored the image in with Copic markers, cut it out and popped it up with foam squares. The edges of the envelope were sponged with Old Olive. The striped dp is from SU Urban Garden dsp. I added a scalloped edge to the "lid" of the envelope and 3 buttons. The sentiment was punched out with a SU Oval punch and sponged with Old Olive. I then popped that up on another oval punched out of Night of Navy. For the insert, I stamped the blueberries with Night of Navy, stamped the sentiment, cut it out, and popped it up on top of the blueberry image. The edge was colored with a Pale Olive Copic marker. I added a tab punched with the SU Round Tab Punch and added some texture to it with the CB Swiss Dots Folder. I hope you like it, and thank you so much for stopping by today!

CASEing Kelly!

5:31 PM 6 Comments
Hello! This week's featured stamper on SCS is Kelly H! She has a beautiful gallery which you can check out here. I chose to CASE this beautiful card. I used my free stamp set I picked out when I signed up to become a SU demo~Wonderful Watercolors. It's such a pretty set, and I know I'll be able to do use it a lot of different ways! I also used my Stamp-a-ma-jig for the first time! I don't know why I was so intimidated by that thing~it's actually very easy! Anyway, I stamped the images with Baja Breeze and cut them out with my Long Rectangle, Nestabilities. I added a few pearls to the centers of the flowers. The dp is my new favorite in the SU cattie~Parisian Breeze Specialty DSP. The sentiment comes from the retired hostess set~Best Yet. I stamped the sentiment with Baja Breeze and cut the circle out with my Nesties. I punched the Scalloped Circle out of Kraft cs and punched the little holes with a 1/16" punch. The ribbon is Oatmeal Offray ribbon which matches the Kraft perfectly! Thank you so much for stopping by today!
